Clutch Push Rod Seal Replacement

Hi there GS gang, it's been a while. I have an oil leak originating from the clutch push rod seal, confirmed via cleanup and visual inspection of the area behind the drive sprocket cover whilst running the engine and from visual inspection after riding. Nothing major at this stage, but I have ordered a new seal and have read here that it's possible to replace it without much trouble, though I have a few questions for anyone who has successfully replaced this seal.

1. What tools will I require exactly? Do I need a seal extractor or is it possible to pry out the old seal with a small flathead screwdriver? Will knocking the new seal into the groove with a PVC pipe over the seal retainer plate work?

2. Are there any traps or issues that I will run into when replacing the seal or anything that I should specifically look out for/be mindful of?

I couldn't lever mine out with a screwdriver so ended up drilling two small holes in the seal carefully, putting screws into the holes and pulling on the screws with a pair of pliers to remove the seal.
I just gently tapped the new seal in with a hammer and bit of wood but a bit of pipe should work fine.
Make sure to grease the inside of the seal where the pushrod goes through.
