When I take the carbs off the 2004F for cleaning I would like to simplify things.  IT has the stock carbs with the little white valves on the diaphragm covers.  I have read everything I can find and I do understand what those little valves do.  I'd like to replace the diaphragm covers with the simpler plastic ones with no valve.  On my earlier GSs I remember an o-ring and a small passage to the diaphragm cover.  Is there a simple diaphragm cover for my carbs?  Thanks!

So my real question is - will the earlier diaphragm covers fit the 2004 carbs.

No one has tried the older style plastic covers? 

89-00 is one type of top. Will not fit. 01-02 is a different type and may fit an 04. Not tried to fit it and so I dont know for sure.
