Okay, well in the process of moving recently, I stupidly managed to lose both sets of keys to my 2000 GS500e and the person I bought it from and the original dealership have no record of the key code.  I had a locksmith out the other day and after about 2 hours he wasn't able to make a key.  Does anyone know of a locksmith in the Dallas area that would be able to make keys for my motorcycle?  Thanks for any help!

Hotwire it and put a toggle switch somewhere out of sight  :thumb: Then you can search ebay untill a new ignition switch with a key pops up. Locksmiths aren't cheap
Good luck

Locksmith will charge you $60~ish or so...cheaper just to stick a switch on it and buy a another lock set.

remove the seat lock or gas cap and take it to a competent shop, for a skilled locksmith impressioning a key takes about 10 minutes. If you take them a lock it costs less than if they have to come to you. shouldnt be more than 20 0r 25 bucks.
Why didn't you just go the whole way and buy me a f@#king Kawasaki you bastards.

take the top tripple  off with the ig lock to the locksmith shop
the tank and seat don't have all the tumblers

actually easier to take the bike to the shop.....if you have a truck
want Iain's money to support my butt in kens shop

Oh yeah, even if you hotwired it it would be tricky to gas it up  :cookoo: forgot about that. I guess that taking the ignition switch or the whole bike to the locksmith would be your best bet.

This reminds me that I need to get a spare key made, I'm amazed that I haven't lost my only one yet.

Did the incompetent locksmith that tried to make you a key and failed try to charge you anything? If so did you spit in his face?

I got a new locket for $45 and installation was free. Locksmith etobicoke team has done that installation, highly recommend these guys.
