What could be the problem when my 2004 GS500 bogs down when opening the throttle fully? When rolling off some throttle, the power comes back, but I can tell it's not full power.

Otherwise, the bike feels nice and responsive and town riding is not affected.

Rode the bike again today and discovered that the problem comes and goes. I'm now convinced that it's dirt in the carbs because at times the bike pulls like an ox. I've installed an inline fuel filter because the tank filter is torn, but there is probably still some dirt in the carbs. I'll have to give them a proper cleaning.

If you have rust in your tank no amount of filters will save you.

i couldnt find the gs500 filter mesh, so i used an ax100 mesh, its almost the same piece, the holes are bit narrower, had to fill the gaps with gas resistant gasket maker.
It works and its cheap.

Then i found it but the complete tank petcock was around 70 dollars.
