Hello! I am trying to rebuild my 2007 gs500f carburetor, I noticed that the previous owner broke this part and attempted to fix it with JB weld. Looking it up the piece I need is not listed separate to the diaphragm cover assembly, and the assy is ~$120. I was wondering what exactly this part does and how important it is, and if i could replace it by simply buying and older model gs500 carb cover which does not have that piece and is just a simple cap.
