What Headlight bulb for a 96 GS500E?

Need to replace the headlight on my 96, before I go pulling it all apart maybe someone could tell me what the standard factory stock bulb is???

take a phillips screwdriver with you to the local auto parts store
remove headlight and walk in with bulp in your hand
i think it's a H-3  but i already know what they look like...same as in my Del Sol :mrgreen:

i need a new one .. the manuals all say it is an "H4" ... does an ultrawhite sylvania draw more current and risk melting my wires?
any experience with it?

not a problem same watage just different light spectrum had them in mine for 3 years

thanks ajaxgs ... good to hear from another GTA rider.  I see u moved onto an SV650 .. that might be my next bike too!

got the ultrawhites from sylvania this evening (walmart!) .. cost $30 ...
installed them in about 5 minutes. e.z.
high and low beams are a firin' just fine.
