I have had my GS for about 9 months and i am going to by a 600 within a year any suggestions?

96gs

I wouldn't suggest any of the liter bikes, but for me when I get a new bike (which will be around 3 years from now) I wouldn't mind having a CBR600RR. But by the time I get money to get a new bike there will probably be a whole new range of bikes to get. But think CBR. Ask Pantablo about it, he got one after his GS.

thats what i was looking at i like the exhaust and i think it has the most stock Hp of any.

idk, its kinda a tossup between the zx-6 ninja, gsx-r600, cbr600rr f4, or an sv650.  All I know is I want fuel injection, carbueration and I don't play well together.

I'm looking very seriously at a 2001-02 ZX6-R. Pretty good ergos, nice screen, okish pillion and decent handling for a 600 (so much better than most). I need to go and take some test rides, see what I think of them.

i really have a thing for SV's but im afraid it wont be enough of an upgrade from my gs

shiplemw

yeah I'm not sure what I am going to look at.  I really like the new GSX-R styling on all of the bikes but don't like the super screaming redline of the 600's so I may go for a 750 since it is only about 5 lbs heavier, has more torque and just a bit more hp.

I may end up with a Kawasaki Mean Streak (1500) if my dad doesn't like his bike as I told him I would buy it from him if he didn't like it.

How bout a Z750 ... they look awesome IMO.  Don't know anything about them other than that.

It depends what you want the bike for.
Do we want to look good irregardless of everything else?
Do we want to hangout and just burn rubber around the hood?
Do we want to go far from the crowd?
Don't forget that the bike is a means to an end.
Depends what you want out of it.

What king of riding do you do?

The SV650 is a great bike and a big defference from the GS. I4's & V-twins two completely different motors. Sit on them and see what fit you the best. Do not base a decision on specs & reviews out of a magazine, they can be very subjective.

Personally I like twins better than I4's. Hard to describe unless you have owned them both.
Common sense in not very common.

Here's my "next bike". I bought it about 2 months ago.

Dont be fooled though. The 600rr isn't the fastest or lightest 600 out there. Far from it. I love this bike for many reasons but the two biggest are the exceptionally stable and nertral handling (good for canyons) and the fit for my frame is perfect (shorter reach to the bars).

The other bikes I did consider (or would consider if doing it again) were the Triumph Daytona 600 and the R6.  If I didnt like the fact that every squid near me has the gsxr's I would go after the 750. Probably the best street bike out there.

But I L.O.V.E. my 600rr.

If you have enjoyed Le Enfant GS then you might look at the Ducati Monster 620 or 800. Love the looks of those things and hey, they're not like a**holes...everybody don't have one  . Myself, IF I find that I can continue riding I'd love to get a Buell or another Electraglide. But by-golly I do love this leetle GS and the forum.

I'm actually thinking about getting a new GS for the street. I really miss the light nimble little bike. I tend to go way to fast on my 600. A GS would be very conducive to my health and mental well being.
When my YZF sells. I think I'm going to pick up an F and use the difference to build it into a "squid killer".

All the new ones are so similar that you can probably choose based on which one looks the best to you.  I also suggest sitting on them because you will probably be fastest on the one that is most comfortable to you.

I personally have a hankerin' for a sport Vtwin as my next bike.  Ohh how sweet they sound with a good exhaust

I'm thinking of complemeting my GS with a dualsport when I have a little more moola.

If my direction with cars is any indication, I'll be less inclined to hunt for more power and more inclined to hunt for better handling, road-bike-wise.

I love my little gs, but the call of the bigger I-4 engines is already starting again... I'm considering either a CBR929rr, or a ZX11...   not to replace my gs, though, I'd still commute the gs, but ride the big bike on fun days 8)
