Hi all,

Sorry to bail but these things, they happen :x . Panik, I also have 2 assignments due on the 20th that I havent even opened up the text books yet :o  LWW, where are you getting your tyres? How long did the old set last you? Hows Ben after his meet and greet with the tarmac?? Is his bike fixed yet??? I have been nowhere interesting on the bike for weeks...... must remedy that situation ASAP
Hope everyone is happy and healthy and bikes running like the little champs they are. :thumb:

panik

Well, I have an assignment due in *checks watch* 12 hours, I'd better start soon...

I'm getting my tyres from Procycles in Hornsby, because they are servicing my bike anyway.

My current set have done 12,000+ km, and are starting to look a little worn, the front isn't so bad, but the back has about 1mm of tread depth left in the middle.

I'm a big believer in getting good tyres anyway, even more so for bikes, and I don't like the idea of mixing different tyres, so better ones are the go.

Maybe we should schedule the next ride for the 22nd? I have the superbike school on the 23rd, so I'll have to be careful, I don't want to bin my bike the day before that.
Don't Panic.

Did you do it up the putty? If so im starting to wonder if its safe up there any more with ben coming off and all. (BTW bens fine bike should be back in a week or so about $3500 damage to bike).
I suppose on the bright side you can look at the triumph now.
How much damage was done to the GS?

The picture of your helmet looked OUCH! :o

It's a long story, I'll write something up when I can. It looks like the bike is a write off.

Tank damage, front forks snapped in half, headlight, triple clamps, handlebars, levers, the frame might not be in alignment, all the body panels, right hand peg is snapped off, the foot brake lever is bent.

I'm looking at getting a 2nd hand Honda VTR-250 next.

Hopefully I'll be ready for the next ride still  :thumb:

:o  :o  :o  :o
:(  :(  :(  :(

OUCH!! glad you were able to walk away from that!
I'll wait for the story but glad you are OK.
Geoff use to have a VTR250 there a good bike with good suspension and brakes but not nearly the power of the GS, but have to ask why go backwards? :dunno:
Anyway stay good and take it easy and keep in touch  :thumb:

Muldoon

Hey Panik,
That has to have hurt. Im glad to hear you are ok but echo LW's thoughts about going back to a 250?? Wont the insurance buy you another one??? Was that up the Putty road??  I read a letter in AMCN about the cops picking people off the tarmac there every weeeknd so dont feel too bad about it!  But the full story would be good to hear when you can. Oh, and get a blue one next, they go faster......
And who was the GS rider in Albany street, crows nest at 12.50pm today (wednesday)?
Cheers,
Duncan.

Oh yeah, the bike's insured, I just really liked the handling of the Honda CBR250RR, and I was hoping that the VTR was similar, but with a naked bike look.

I'm not sure that I want to go back to the GS, it's a really good bike, but I think that it needs new front springs, rear shock (maybe) and tyres. But that is just for the riding I do, I don't want to get a new GS for $8000, then spend another $700 on it for new handle bars, tyres and springs.

I like the power of the GS, and if the VTR isn't too much down on power, and handles better, I'll go for it instead.

I want a better handling bike, maybe with a fairing.

1st point go with the CBR instead of the VTR if you want sport riding, the VTR really isnt that far removed from our bikes just better handling and less power but you could do no wrong buy one though they are a little pricey for what you get (no tacho until last years model).

2nd point Fair call i can understand that
