Say, I want to change my '04 tail section with a blue one instead of the stock white one. Which year's model would I need to cannibalize?

Looks like a '97 was blue...go to the GStwin.com section with info on specs. Love GS500's and forum.

That would be the GS500 Colors By Year page.

(Pick GS500 General Info from the "Go To:" dropdown in the upper right-hand corner of this page, then GS500 Colors By Year.  Then bookmark it for next time.  ;) )

'97 had the old tailsection.  '01 U.S. model had a very dark blue color and should fit the '04.  I think the Canadian '01 and possible later models had a more "normal" shade of blue.

In the spec sheet Kerry mentions, the '01 shade looks lighter...what is the difference in the tail-sections for the early and the late? Groovin' on the G and the forum

So it looks like it follows the seat...reckon it would work with the right seat? Or maybe just make it work. I'd have to look at 'em up close and personal...anybody ever try to make one work with the other? Year I mean. Feeling good about my little G, standing in awe of giants on the forum.
