I always thought the SV looked great and the SV "S" looked...I don't know, unbalanced. But with the lower fairing all I can think is "WOW". Now that is a sweet looking scooter. You must love it...like I love the GS and reading the forum...if that doesn't annoy you.

Do you get pops from the exhaust? I get them at idle, more so on deceleration.

On a side note I got my first ticket yesterday.

No pops here.  My rejetted R6 w/ slip on micron pipe did exactly what you are describing.  From what I've been able to gather, that's pretty common with rejetted bikes  :dunno:

Sucks to hear about the ticket.  I'm guilty of doing the insta-stop with both feet on the pegs myself   .  just haven't been nailed doing it yet.  Good wakeup call to help me remember to mind my p's and q's on the road.

I am hoping that the GF and I can work out a good deal on a GS once she gets the MSF course done.  I would love to get my hands on another GS.  How awesome would that be?!?!?! to have the SV and the GS living side by side in the garage

fender eliminator.  would make it look pretty slick.  (about half down the page).

but aside from that, looks pretty hot with that lower on.

I was thinking the same thing.

I was on the GS when I got the ticket. Decided to take it out as I hadn't ridden it for a couple of weeks.

Most every bike pops on decel. You just do not really hear them as much with a stock exhaust. More noticeable with a re-jet and an aftermarket exhaust. A non-restrictive exhaust will allow some of the unburnt fuel to ignite in the exhaust system. Air leaks will make the popping worse. Also, some emission control devices may increase the popping as well.
Common sense in not very common.

OOOOh... Wow! That looks awesome. I was planning on working on my bike this winter (04'F). Sportier bars, rejet, full exhaust,+4 rear sprocket, progressive springs, katana shock. I think what I really want is to make my bike into an SV  8) . The Naked SV looks awesome too but the price difference between the SV & SVS is so small it seems like the "S" is a much better value. So I guess the bad news is I'll probably be giving up the GS the end of the season but the good news is someone will getting a great deal on an "almost new" '04. BTW, are there any diffences between the SV & SVS besides the fairing and bars?

rearsets are slightly farther back on the 'S' model.  I'm not sure about gearing and power... if there is a difference it is negligable.
