Like the subject says.  I'll pay shipping both ways if there's any takers.

is that the tool to take the valves out of the head?

So it's NOT the one used for taking the valve SHIMS out?  :dunno:

If you DO need the shim tool, I could send you mine.  Shoot, I could even include:
    * A set of feeler blades

    * My pen-sized telescoping magnet (for easy extraction of the freed shim)

    * A set of dial calipers for measuring the shim thickness.  (Your choice: .001" only, or dual .001" inch / .02mm)

    * The 2 or 3 extra shims that came out of my bike and Richard's  (Somewhere around 2.60mm - 2.65mm)

    * Our custom-modified "test shim" - just in case you have a valve that's WAAAY tight

    * A link to the Haynes
Shim Selection Chart   [/list:u]If you don't need all (or ANY) of that stuff ... NEVER MIND!  ;)

Now, you understand that you only get this offer because you've been to Utah, right?  (Or was it that you WANTED to come to Utah?  Anyway, I'm kidding.)

Kerry,

Sorry, I meant the valve shim tool. I wasn't paying attention to davipu's message. Happens at 2 am i guess.

I have been to Utah.  1998 I was there for a conference and had a friend who lived about 3 blocks from the tabernacle.  I blew off the last two days of the conference and we drove unmarked dirt roads most of the way to Moab and we camped for the weekend somewhere out by Dead Horse State Park if I recall the name correctly.(i'm pretty sure I'm wrong now looking at it in type).

My wife and I love the 4 corners region and hope to move that way someday if at all possible.  It would take a cosmic alignment of work, family etc.

Anything you'd be willing to send me, I'd be glad to pay for shipping, boxing, donuts etc.

Not bad for a 6-year-old memory!  You only dropped one word:

PM me your info and I'll try to ship everything out ... on Friday, probably.  (I'm about to conk out for the night!)

Oh, and let me know if there's anything you DON'T need me to send.  May as well save the weight and avoid the risk, eh?

We did a rea ally neat hike, I can't remember exactly where it was. We got there about 4 or 5 in the evening and it was just a little pull off at a trail head.  We hiked up the trail to an arch that overlooked a set of train tracks that looked as if it took 50,000 men to chisel  into the valley,  It was pretty amazing.

When we camped it was pitch black and we couldn't even see a big swath of the sky. We actually just camped out int he middle of nowhere.  The next morning I realized why we couldn't see anything the night before. We had camped in the shadow of gigantic mesa but it was so pitch black the night before that we didnt' even know it was there.  It was a pretty cool way to wake up.
