This could be the longest thread in history!

I am Linda from Southern Oregon. I have a '92 GS500 that I bought used about three years ago (wish it had full fairing like the new ones!!)

My first bike, I can't remember... The second was an old Honda CB550 - four cylinder.

:)

Naw, the Word Association thread in the Odds 'n' Ends section is a lot longer. More than twice as long.

TarzanBoy

I've been on the site for a few weeks, but haven't properly introduced myself.  I'm Kevin.  I'm a 27 yr old living and working around Atlanta, GA.

I recently (about a month ago) bought a *very* well maintained 1989 GS500 from a fellow GSTwin'er as my first motorcycle.

She's an '89 but wears her age well - words won't do her justice:

The '04 bodywork and fairing were fitted by GSTwin.com's resident guru, Seshadri Srinath himself.  Noone ever believes she's an '89 and all sorts of people are constantly giving compliments.  (sorry if the image is too large)

Hi.

So now its my turn to intruduce myself. I'm a guy from Denmark (no, its not the capital of Sweden, and Ikea is a furniture company...  :nana: )
I have, based on the many threads on this forum, bought a used GS500 '93 before taking my licens. I am looking forward to feel the experience of just driving of into the sunset, or maybe once in a while feel the adrenalin after a successful curve.  ;)

Thats all for now, have fun riding.

Dennis
Danish isn't always something you eat. :)

And no, Denmark is not the capital of Sweden.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Hey, my name is Kenny and we just got a GS500F from American Suzuki - we won it in an auction to help a racing friend of mine.

...neat lil' bike, neat and informative board.

I race twins (Ducati 999R and 749R's) at Willow Springs with WSMC this year.

Ride safe and have fun.

Hello EVERYBODY!,
First off, I gotta say thanx for this site.  It's a lifesaver and SEARCH saves a load of time!
32yo, first time rydr, from San Antonio...traded in my gas-guzzlin' '00 Suburban, for a bike (commute 75mi. roundtrip).  Was gonna get a R6, ZX6R, or  a  GSXR600.  But, after reading the great posts from this forum and the Ninja 250/500 forums, realized what this newb needed!  Padded the account alil' too (gas & insurance)!
Gotta say, I have learned a lot so far, and know I'll learn more....this site is the sh**!!!

dgbernstein

My name is David. I'm a Software Engineering Manager/grad student, 36, and a relatively new regular rider. I live in Roseville, CA. I'm married with two little kids.

After kicking myself for not getting a GS500 back in 96 when I was originally shopping for one, I finally bought my first bike this past June (found on Craigslist), a 2001 GS500 (dark blue). The bike is completely stock and in great shape (pic posted). I am considering adding a small windscreen, and maybe a fenderectomy.

I have been visiting this site for quite some time before I found my bike, but hadn't registered until just now. It's great to be a part of this community!

Ride safe!
David.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.... Either Way! I'm Justin I recently bought a '92 GS500E. Beat up! That is the only way I can describe this poor girl. So I'm putting the money down to build her back up. I live in Santa Rosa Ca. Not much else to say I don't think. I'm a new rider. This is my first bike. Uhm Yeah... :dunno:
If guns kill people I blame misspelled words on my pencil.

Don't make fun of my bike...she's sensitive about her blemishes....she'll cry...and I can't afford an oil leak.

93 GS500E nothing special done to it.
