Step 1- Dissasembly and Inspection

Step 2- tools used to clean rust off

Step 3- Sand, scrape and remove any rust.

Found a hole in the exhaust

Keep scrubbing

Step 4- Wipe with damp cloth to get rid of rust dust.

You can see the original coating here;

Step 5- Hole repair (if needed)

Insert metal booger into hole

Step 6- Buy most expensive ceramic magnesium titanium 8000 degree silver carbide cobalt epoxy triple catalyzed enamel paint, make sure it has rossi emblem on it or it wont work.

I couldnt find such a thing, so a 4$ bottle of stove polish from the hardware store will do.

Step 7- Apply (NOTE: SHAKE BOTTLE)

Step 8- mount on bike

I coated the hard to reach lower and end caps while it was off the bike, and left the mid section so i have something to hold on to when mounting it on the bike.

Step 9- Finish coating

Step 10- Turn on bike for around 10 minutes to bake, it will get most of it but will require an hour ride to finish.

Step 11- Completed, it came out pretty good, but could be much better with better prep.

took about 2 hours

uh looks good but where can we all buy

Rossi ceramic magnesium titanium 8000 degree silver carbide cobalt epoxy triple catalyzed enamel paint?

And sputter weld setup and mole borer snake thing.

Did you do your own  extrude honing?

Funny that looks like a fenda extenda. Does mine have that too? I cant see my fender on my 04 cause of fairing.

CliffHanger

Is this better than using a high-temp paint?
Anyone who has done any of these able to testify as to longevity of the finish?

I plan on redoing my exhaust over the winter...

Thanks for the advice

Next time you go through all of that, ask if any of us has a stock exhaust that is nowhere near that condition and We (I) will sell it super cheap to you, lol.

But it looks great.  :icon_mrgreen:
