exhaust weld

So I have a slip-on muffler, I think it was meant for a Honda.  Buddha provided me with a small slipper pipe that is the correct diameter for the muffler.  Now I just need to get an exhaust shop to cut off my old muffler and weld the new slipper pipe on to the midpipe so I can slip the new muffler on.

What do you think would be a reasonable price for something like that?

I was going to say $20-30, for a simple cut and weld if you take the pipe off and give it to them, but to get it aligned correctly I'm guessing it would be best to:
1. Figure where you should cut it.
2. Take the pipe off and cut it.
3. Reinstall mid-pipe on bike, and fit the slip-on to Buddha's pipe piece.
4. Line up slip on with mid-pipe and tack-weld in situ.
5. Remove everything and finish the welding.
I'd want to be there when all that was happening, maybe agree on an hourly rate with the shop and be there to help line it up how you want it. Then you'll know what they're charging is fair.

If you don't have acess to tools to tack weld it before hand, at least clean up both ends, and mark both sides with a sharpie so you make sure they can easily line it up when you hand them the two parts.
