I hit the 1000km mark today, and I'm loving it!   I'm having more fun on this bike then I could have ever possibly imagined!  I've scheduled my first dealership visit for value inspection, oil and filter change, yada yada.  I think they'll probably charge an arm and a leg, but since the bike is still under warantee, I'm going to pay up this one time.

When I hit the 800km mark, I started pushing the bike past 5K rpm, but not more than 8K rpm -- man, what a difference!  Granted this is my first bike, and I've got nothing to compare it to, but it feels fantastic!  It's got more than enough pull to keep me happy for many of the next riding years.

BTW, I recently got a copy of "Proficient Motorcyclying", by David L. Hough http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1889540536/104-6242688-6980700?v=glance.  Great read, and I'd strongly suggest any other new riders to pick this one up.

The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

good judgement trumps good skills every time.

Oh yes, that is great the first time you realy open it up after your run-in period. Enjoy it, some say it's the most fun you can have on your own...........

In Cricket the testicular guard, or Box, was introduced in 1874. The helmet was introduced in 1974. Is there a message??
