Registering an out of state GS in Cali

I moved my GS from Illinois to California and  I was wondering if anyone knew anything about changing the bike so it is licensed in California.  Thanks.

The one my brother has (jabix) was originally from arizona and to my knowledge he didnt have to do anything to regsiter it in CA.  Ill have him post and verify.

I registered a 1991 Arizona GS in Costa Mesa CA in 2003 and had zero problems.

As long as the title is clean and signed over, you should have no problems either.  CA requires no safety inspection unlike other states nor are there police present at the DMV to make sure that you're not riding the bike there on expired tags.  Both of these things were true for me when I lived in Maryland but non-issues in CA.  
They will verifiy the VIN numbers but thats about it.  Total time it took for me was around 3 hours.

I was also once able to register a GS with no title at the Pomona DMV, but thats another story.

I assume your bike is at least 5 years old or at least has 7500 miles...in which case yes, it is super easy. if it doesnt meet the above requirements there might be a fee involved but no work to the bike is necessary.
