'05 Triumph Rocket III
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

'04 GS500F...Anyone from Jersey wanna ride?

Blazinjr

Maybe a SV1000s, just looked at a leftover new 2003 silver one on Wednesday.   $6800 +tax and title.    Very tempting.

919, Z750S or that style bike.   Something that still has some power but is not that bad to ride.

Funniest name I was ever called on here "cap'n fast n' furious"

Call up or check Honda East in Toledo Ohio if you haven't.  I hear they have the lowest prices and will ship bikes for really cheap.  Some people on SVRider.com have purchased bikes from there and had them shipped across the US for WAY less than MSRP.

The only reason I did not get one of those bikes is because I really don't feel like paying over a grand a year for insurance on a bike.

I thought about getting a 883 or 1200 Sportster but did not want to shell out that kind of $ for my first bike.   One plus about the cruisers is the dirt cheap insurance.   $219 for the 883 and around $300 a year for full coverage insurance.  I took a friends 04 1200c out for a little ride and I loved the power that thing had.  SE pipes, different carb and ignition is all perf mods that was done.  I didn't like the big tall front wheel though, 21 incher I think.

I'm riding it. :thumb:

I might want to pump up the engine later or change suspension or cosmetics, but the options are endless for HDs.

If you've got a dream bike, save up for it, finance it, just do it. Life is too short, but remember to ride sane or stay on the sidewalk.

Now if I was to get a 2nd bike, I'd like a SV650 to zip around on. 8) One little Cruiser and one little Sportbike would be about right for me.

Dream bike? Probably haven't been riding long enough to come up with my perfect dream bike just yet, but I know a couple out there that I just drool over.

Street fighters:
- Ducati Monster 620 Dark: Just too damn super sexy.
- Suzuki SV650: I like the unfairred a lot more than the S model.
- BMW K 1200 R: Menacing, sleek, and fast.
- MvAgusta Brutale GLADIO: No explanation needed.

Sport bikes:
- Suzuki GSX-R600: Definitely in red/black. I dig the one headlight look.
- Honda F4i: Sweet 600 sport bike that's also comfortable.
- MvAgusta F4 SPR: Exotic of the exotics. This is the closest I can get to a "dream bike".

Man this post depresses me. Wish I could spend more money on toys like this. :thumb:

this one.  anybody know what model that is?

I saw that once in real life.  I looked at the oil cooler the wrong way and it fell off.

a-train

as some of ya'll know, i've parted out my bike so pretty much any bike that RUNS WELL is my dream bike!

does anyone else like the aprilia rs250?  two-stroke, mille r looks and weighs as much as a small watermelon?  wish there were more of em and much cheaper... anyone else???

drvmystck

I change my mind on this subject constantly. There are a few common themes though, and chief among them is my multiple bike strategy, which results in the Dream Stable:

Commuter: Ducati Multistrada 620 (or Monster 620 in a pinch). Multistrada is weird, and I like it that way. Hard cases are $900. This could also be my touring bike.

Playbike:  Triumph Bonneville black, stripped down to the bare necessities and cafe'd out better than the factory did with the thruxton. My local dealer did this, its on display, and gives me goosebumps.

Trackbike:  Perhaps the GS, but more likely the Aprilia RS450 that doesn't yet exist, which is supposed to replace the RS250 with their v-twin superlight 4 stroke motocross engine. tasty, if it happens.

Touring bike: If the multistrada cant cut it (chain drive, I know) and the gf ever wants to come along, I'll be needing the new Triumph Sprint ST or a Ducati ST3.

I can't explain it, but the superexotic crazyfast trackbikes don't appeal to me at a high level.
Red 93 GS500

I change my mind a lot too.
Today I am thinking Triumph Speed 4 in black.

personally I have my mind set on a 96-98' zx-7rr  :thumb:  There's just something about it that makes it say organism :nana:  Realistically I could own one in the not to distance future...what good is a dream if you can't live it?

The SV1000 is a close second right along side the zx-9r and then Honda's 929

I really, really, really like the 2006 Boulevard M50.. :thumb: The blue one looks especially sharp. I think that is the only bike as of this writing I would seriously consider getting rid of my GS for.

hmmm......

well.....the sport rider in me wants either a gsxr750 or daytona 650

the relaxer in me wants either a v-max or breva 750

the tourer in me wants either dl1k (vstrom) or fjr1300

and the track star in me wants a C1 990.....

of course I don't think I'll be owning all of these anytime soon, that's why I bought an SV....
PETE: It's four in the funking morning!
