I never want to own a Ducati.  Maintenance is a Buddha Loves You, from what I've heard and read.

They're also hard-core track bikes, and I'm just not a skillful enough rider to do one justice.

indestructibleman

yeah.  i wouldn't want to have to do the maintainence on a ducati either.  i think i'm definitely a japanese bike guy (or a bmw guy, if i can get the money).  but that duc is just so damn gorgeous.

That is a Ducati MH 900E, enjoy the pic because you'll never see one in real life(on the street at least).  I think they made some insanely small number of them, like 111 or some ridiculousness.  Gorgeous though.

MH 900E, aka Mike Hailwood 900 evoluzione...

there are a few locally. I always saw one at Rock store and one that had been tossed down the road at the local Ducati dealer...

or a speed triple....

I don't think you can own a GS500E and not have the Triumph Speed Triple be at least on your top 3 list of wish list bikes.   Same basic idea taken to another level entirely all with an engine that could remove tree stumps.  I'm getting aroused just thinking about it.  I was on a T509 the other week that was a hell of a lot of fun, but that 2005 is amazing. :thumb:

I dunno, the end always looked stubby to me - like it was cut off prematurely.  And what I like about the GS is precisely that it has a powerband where I can wring it out a little while still staying legal on the street.
