Old shock vs new shock (a gsf600 one)

How to shift the pretension on a stubbourn shock without the right tool
That's my workbench jaws it's tied into with strong kite line.
I used a steel pole through the end to twist it up a couple of pretension notches.

A REAL rat bike.

My kitchen. (don't I have a forgiving girlfriend)

What type of bars are those? They've got an interesting shape. Not like the '89 bars, but similar...

They are UK bars.
I believe we got them from 90 - 99.

If you look closely you'll also see the fork pretension adjusters we got too.

:P

Here is a couple of better pic I just took.

Hmm. Those aren't that bad. As you can see in this thread I'm thinking about making some '89 style clip ons. Those look very similar, except that those have some risers on the clip-on mounts. Interesting...

One good thing about those bars is the way they lay along the tank without
actually hitting it if you drop the bike.

I've had my bike dropped or knocked over 6 times and so far no tank dents, broken levers or bent bars.

*Damn cursed myself now havent I*

Naw, I had a '92 that got dropped numerous times. Never once dented the tank. The only time the tank got damaged at all was when I wadded the bike into scrap.

There is a dent in my tank, but it's from where some git kicked my bike over.

The clues were the boot print in dust around the dent and the fact it was on the upper side as the bike lay over.
