I am also considering a cargo net. I need something to hold my lunch while I go to school. My backpack is already full of books. One of these days my lunch is going to fall from that single bungie strap I am using.

Is there alot of rubbing/damage/paint wear with the use of a cargo net or is it insignificant??

Or you could just eat your lunch before you go to school.  Doy.

I had been using bungees over a backpack as my tailbag. It rubbed some of the paint off the sticker, but didn't otherwise damage the tail plastics or paint. Still, I try to keep it as pristine as possible and didn't like this. I just wear the backpack now. Yeah I look like a dork, but whatever, at least I can take a delicious hamwich or 2 wherever I go.

take the hooks off you dont need them.   the four post on the frame under the seat are for looping the net over.

The nylon or whatever of the net will still rub on the paint.

Thats a great idea.
I put the soft side of some Velcro on the nets hooks and that helps keep them from scratching. But I like your idea better I will try it.

And, the hooks wont rust when the net is stored under your seat when your bike is parked outside in the rain all day.  Great idea!  And, since my net is over 14 years old, stretching that much further wont hurt either!
