Well I finally got to take a real ride yesterday....more than just around town. It was a little cold but was still a lot of fun. I think that fuse problem is finally taken care of, it seems like it may have been a loose connection or something. Anyway, I rode with a couple of friends yesterday one on an 05 ZX6R the other on a 79 Gs550E. We all rode 2 up with our girlfriends. My friend on the ZX wanted to go to a couple of the state parks near us, as they have some nice twisties. Everything was going well until our friend on the GS550E ran out of gas. He got side tracked after buying lunch before we left that he forgot to fill up :cookoo:. We weren't far from home so he called up a friend to bring him out some gas, while we waited we hung out and watched all the other bikers cruise through the turns. FINALLY I KNOW WHERE ALL THE BIKERS HANG OUT!!! lol. Most were older guys on touring bikes, cruisers, and harley's but there were also a good number of sport bikes. After the gas came we made a short run to another park just a few miles away. This was also some nice road up a mountain to a lookout point. we stopped at the top for awhile checking out the view (NYC skyline, Hudson River, and some mountains and valleys) Lots of bikers up there too so we hung around looking at bikes and talking to other rides. This all lasted until the park police came through and said he was going to start writing tickets to all the bikes that weren't in "legal" parking spots. This began the mass exedous off the mountain. It was a rush to ride in such a big pack, probably about 20 or 30 bikes of all sorts. This was a first for me, I normally only ride with one or 2 other friends. We took the long way home and ended our day with no other incident at around 70 miles. I can't wait until the weather warms up and we can start taking longer rides. But now I know some cool riding spots in my area and met a lot of expierenced and interesting riders. Sad part was I saw no other GS! All those people are really missing out :thumb:

Wow, sounds like an excellent day.  I myself had an awesome day riding, but didn't make any big trips like you did.

Glad your electrical problem went away, hopefully it doesn't start acting up again.

Here's to many more days filled with friends and riding!

Oh, I forgot to ask...did you ever post pictures with the white tail you got from Alpha?  Either I missed them or you've been holding out on us!

My Name Is Dave

I posted an ad on craigslist on friday asking for any cool local rides and got 3 or 4 really good replies. I hit up one that was easy to hit from my work. It was about 60 miles each way and was awesome. There were a bunch of signs that had the symbol for an s-curve with "next 6 miles" under it. Pure heaven!

Congrats on finally getting out again, and thank god for spring!

Yeah Alpha's bike looks UNREAL with the deep beautiful blue and the black frame.

I'm excited to see a white F, sounds interesting.

Hey I just hit the seven lakes drive and bear mountain park (w/o going over the bear mtn bridge) two weeks ago on a sunday.  I came up route 9W from NYC as it's supposed to be a scenic route, but next time I think I'll take palisades parkway.  Anyway, it's a nice area and within an hour of me, so you may see another GSer there!

Absolute Rescue

Yea that is exactly where I was on sunday, I live in orange county. If you ever want to get together for a ride let me know, it would be really cool to ride with another GS.

My bad, I thought the reg expires on April 1.

Absolute Rescue

Its cool. I think you are thinking about inspections which now have to be done before the first of the month that they expire. Or something along those lines, I don't understand NY sometimes :2guns:
