It can get down all the way.
But it won't always get up.

ive rubbed the side of my foot when i was circling in a parking lot

on my GS i have about 2mm or less in some sports of 'chicken strip' on my stock tires.. the GS leans pretty damn good.
if you had knee pucks you could drag a knee on the GS if you wanted to.. and some people here to as i've seen on the forums.

I've gotten low enuff to wear rubber off the outsides of my boots and low enuff to scrape my footpegs. I dont really want to try getting much lower.

I scrapped pegs on a 140   BT-45  on the dragon in many of the turns.   And I scrapped the whole side of my bike on the stock 130 BT-45  right after i purchased it.

 no that would be impossible!

I heard bone stock you can scrape the pegs. Get new rearsets & you can scrape some part of the exhaust. I dunno how doable that is on the stock tires; the stock pegs are a definite yes though. there's a pic in "racer's corner" on the homepage. I just decided to stop beating arount the bush and scrape the whole left side of my bike  :thumb:

i've scraped my pegs going through a parking lot a couple times... if i'm not paying attention and my feet aren't pressed against the bike i'll scrape my boots fairly easily (I have big ass feet tho)

how do you wear off that much of your chicken strips?  I already do like twice the recommended speed through turns and I've still got plenty left

yea, just a fyi to for those that dont know, if the peg is dragin then you coul dhave a nee down, when my nee hits i know i have about am inch left befor the peg hits.   also, after the peg drags far enough the bottom of the faring is next, and if you keep going  the center stand. thats were i would stop. or the bike will.

Don't hang off.

Bingo. If you hang off enough and you're being SANE on the street you should still have some chicken strips left on the tires. Just hang off more, why bother limiting traction by reducing your contact patch?

+ 1, I hang off and i have about a cm of "chicken strip" on the back but it has been warn there.  That was new to riding, started scraping things and then i started hanging off.  I don't like the noise it makes, reminds me of the noise you hear right before you take a slide - and i'm not talking about a slip-and-slide

If your feet are hitting then try standing on the pegs with your toes so your feet don't stick out.
