Ok, so its been a long time, i've been busy with school, and the like.  This place has changed a lot (for the better).

Well anyway, last year I put a new engine in my gs because the stock one grenaded on me.  At the time it had a minor cam gasket leak, no biggie, i let it go because I didn't have time to fix it.  Well now the oil is leaking like a siv every time I run the bike.  I have put so much oil back in the bike that it was rediculous.  Not to mention that all the oil i put in pissed its way back out on my way home.

Is this a common place for oil to leak, from the cam tower?  It seems like the oil may have also been coming out of the exhaust as well, one of the exhaust bolts fell out.  I'm really hoping that its going to be an easy fix with the cam gasket and not lead to something else.

If anyone has any input on this it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advace

The valve cover gasket is about $15 if I remember correctly.  Replacing it should fix the leak.  A little bit of gasket sealant in the groove on the cover will help prevent the new gasket from getting pinched when you install it.

As above. It is really amazing how much oil these engines will leak from improperly seated gaskets.
After one oil change I had a tiny, fine crack on the oil filter gasket and when the engine started it spat out an un-believable amount of oil. (Had to use the old gasket), so fix it before you run into oil starvation issues.
