Yes. In fact, most upgrades are applicable to every year model. Check the Wiki for model changes, etc...

Not sure what you are wanting to do for mod's but here's an exhuast you can get

http://www.exoticsportbike.com/gs500f_(04-06).htm

say's 04+ but will fit earlier models

Go to your local parts store and pick up the jets you will need.

Off the top of my head I can think of a few mod's you can do.
Replace front springs
Rear Kat shock
Steel braided brake lines
Kat rear rim
rim tape
exhaust
Rejet
Airfilter
intergrated turn signal's Rear
Buell turnsignals  Front
Undertail
Led guage replacement
Led bike light kit

What type of mods are you interested in doing?  How do you want your bike to look?

Pilot 22.5, Mid 65 , Mains 147.5, Mixture screw 3.5 turns out

Even if the voices aren't real they have some good ideas.

Flywheel

Upgrade to heated grips, so you can ride for a while longer! I'm putting on a set of Oxford Hot Grips at the moment. One warning though: the instructions tell you to dry fit (no adhesive) the grips to find a good position for the wiring. However, the clutch side grip is an extremely tight fit--and I mean two hands twisting and swearing tight. Once it was on, that was it; I doubt the thing will ever move again. The throttle grip diameter was correct, but the GS throttle tube has flanges on both ends (and along the length) that need the attention of a Dremel. Otherwise, the grip won't have proper clearance to fit correctly.
gs500 K2 (blue/silver) + Pirelli Sport Demon tires, Pro 6 stainless brake lines (front/rear), Racetech .85 kg/mm fork springs, 15w Motul fork oil, Kat 600 rear shock, K+N drop in air filter, Kisan PathBlazer/Tailblazer modulators, Oxford heated grips and a Givi A240 flyscreen.

Heres the best mod. Cheap too, just takes time:

--Bring it to Saskatchewan for a week.
--Ride on our crappy, flat, straight, windy roads.
--Take it back to Ontario.

It will feel like a whole new bike!!!  :icon_mrgreen:

That is all.

P.S. Go Riders.
P.P.S. I do not like the Leafs very much.

You're pretty much out of luck, locally that is.  If you want something fabricated for an aftermarket pipe, talk to Srinath.  And for jetting/carb info too.  I'm sure he'd be willing to ship to Canada.  I think he'd be sympathetic to your cause, given he's lived through Canadian winters himself.

Also, there's a guy on gtamotorcycle.com who's spent significant time/money/effort moding his GS.  You might want to look him up and ask him some questions (parts availability, local fabricators, etc).

Good luck.

Thanks everyone  :thumb:... I think im going to go for a Vance&Hines Supersport system, either a DynoJet Stage 1 kit or just a Mikuni Jet Kit,
and a K&N filter. I have already done a fenderectomy and a reflectorectomy... also have done fork spacers and found that worked out great. Im going to cut the signal stocks down this winter also.

So is that exhaust, jet and filter combo a good way to go ?????

As for parts the only thing i can find basically in all of ontario is a K&N filter. NOONE has any pipes or jet kits for the bike. I went to my local suzuki dealer yesterday, after searching through all his parts suppliers he found one jet kit available. He called to order it and they told him they no longer carry it .
