I've been having loss of power problem. I just took my bike for a ride, the gas tank is half full and the bikes goes dead after 5-10 minutes. Now, if I switch to PRI on the valve, the bike runs fine. I cheked the hose routing and is correct.

Any Idea of what's the problem.

oh! here is the link to the other thred;

If your hoses are routed appropriately and the bike runs fine in prime then the vacuum diaphragm that controls fuel flow when the bike is on has a hole in it.  When your selector is  ON the diaphragm closes shutting off fuel flow so as to keep your carbs from flooding then when you turn the engine over it applies suction and opens up allowing fuel flow when the diaphragm has a hole it doesn't open when the engine turns over restricting your fuel flow to what is in the line between the petcock and carb. That's why you can go for a few minutes then it shuts off.  Not a big deal really.  You can replace with an OEM or upgrade to a better unit,  both of which will probably be in the same price range.  Or you can just remember to turn it to ON when you're done riding, and that'll keep your carbs from flooding

Forgot to mention  PRI  just bypasses the diaphragm allowing unrestricted fuel flow at all times so it is important to  turn it to ON when you're not riding otherwise you have to keep turning it over til all the excess gas works out of the system.    Happy Riding   :cheers: :cheers: :thumb: :thumb:

Sorry, I meant to say RES not PRI. on my first post.
I don't understand if you mean a hole in the carburetor diaphragm or something else.

Wow :o After watching  Kerry's video on how to adjust the valves (the part where he closses the tank valve) I just realize that on my gas tank the the shutoff valve is backwards, or hes bike is different than mine?

There's probably something blocking the main line either in the  tank petcock, the line, or the frame petcock.  My bet would be you got something  in your tank and it's blocking the intake for the main.  So I'd say check each for blockages and clean/replace as neccesary  Again I'd put my money on a blockage in the frame petcock

I'm I seeing things or WTF is this? Take a look

I though the valve is supposed to be facing the other way! why is it showing it facing left and not facing the drain thingy  this in this pic?
