The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

backd00r

g'day, d00r here from Sydney (near Parra).  been scouring GStwin for a few months now and pleased to say, the community convinced me to go out and buy one.  proud owner of a 2006 naked for the last three months or so.  I'll get a snap up once I pull my finger out and order my new can.

Hey Folks,

DavidR here, with you all the way from Durham, North East England.....

I have only been a member of this site for a couple hours and I already found it really helpful!

I bought my first GS one week ago for £400 (about $650) and have spent the last week painting it.

It's done now, so I can start to enjoy it !

:o     ;)

Cozzy

I am Cosmas, AKA COZ COZZY, born in Hong Kong 1983, spent a few years of my life in Oz, currently live in Hong Kong, working for the Toyota Dealer.

Got the GS500 last week, the first 4 stroke bike ever! Did 300 miles last week, feel pretty good about it.

A crash is the result of the rider's mistake, so don't blame the bike

A rider should be able to control the bike but not controlled by the bike, becuase on the track you don't want to DNF and on the road you don't want to lose you licence

Hi all,
I'm the proud owner of two brand new GS500F's.  I bought them about 2 months ago.  One is my girlfriends and the other is mine.  I've actually been reading this site for a little while.  I used it while researching what bike to buy.  This site helped convince me to go with my gs500f.  So far I'm loving it and I can't imagine why I never rode before.  We live in Olympia, WA and love riding the backroads.  Thanks to everyone here for providing so much info.

Im a 15 year old kid living in the small town of Holland Patent NY, with a 1990 GS500e that I just got. I cleaned everything there is to clean on it and found there is an oil leak on the left side behind the clutch case, i do not know how to stop the leak what should i do??? Aside from that, I have bought a new air filter, choke cable, brake handle, rear tire, turning signals, and tach for it. all for under $200... Thank you ebay

I am looking to give a little more power, what are some low cost modifications I could do?

Stupid hurts. Dress for the crash, not for the ride.

Scooter Boy

Greetings Twin fans ...

I just purchased a sweet little old '96 GS500E to add to the fleet.  I really love the fit and feel of midweights ... fits me like a well worn glove.  My other "bikes" include:

2005 Vespa GT200L (Mid scooter)

2003 Suzuki Burgman 650 (Maxi scooter)

1984 Honda Aero 80 (2-stroke scooter)

1972 Honda CB350F ("Honda's smallest Four and biggest 350")

Later,
Greg

Ride it like you stole it!

RiderX

Hello hello all!

I'm Jesse / RiderX, and I just recently picked up my winter project, a 1991 GS500! She needs a little work, as you can see:

I've rebuilt some bikes worse off than this, recently a Honda CB750, that had been sitting outside under a shredded tarp for 11 years. The GS500 has been sitting for almost 7 years, but at least it's been in a garage.

I'm hoping to get some help in my rebuild, as this is my first attempt at a GS500. So wish me luck, and I'll be asking questions soon!

I'm David, 30 yo, french and living in ireland

I have a 1996 GSE500 with 70k km on the clock.

Just spent 10 days in France with the bike to visit friends and family.
3k km and no worries with the bike.

it's going to have a bellypan and genuine suzuki nose fitted soon.

And I don't know if it's restricted to 33bhp (but it's making 105mph  O0)

pics to follow
