1999 GS500E...Needs help, but who's first bike doesn't. Completely Stock and THAT needs to change.

Works in Software Engineering. Put about 40-50 miles on my bike a day so needs some TLC.
There are those that have been down and there are those that will go down...which are you?

scratch

Welcome!

Well, I'm nearby, but unavailable as I am doing a top-end rebuild on my bike, then I have to do a valve adjustment on another bike, a group ride, then Christmas.

Start a new thread in General, and describe what's wrong and we'll all try to help.

If you have either the Clymer or the Haynes manual, state if you do so in the thread.

I've got three other GS owners in the area that are needing work immediately, and several more that aren't as urgent.  If your's is urgent, I would suggest Santa Clara Cycle Accessories (730-0600) on El Camino near Wolfe.

Wrongside

Truthfully, what's not wrong with it....

Oil leak, don't know where since it only happens when I am moving and it spreads.

Front shocks need resealing or replacing.

After riding for a few miles if I stop at a light it acts like it ran out of gas and sputers. This also happens on the hwy sometimes. It's kinda scary. If it was a car I would say clogged fuel filter or REALLY dirty carbs/airfilter.

No manuel

Also Scratch, I work at Palm on Mary/Maude. So I'm not far at all.

I just realized I've been here a while but never posted in this thread.

I'm Brian and I live in Seattle for most of the year and go to the University of Washington. I have a '96 GS500 and I friggin love it. It's hard to describe to non-riders how awesome riding is.

Heffe

What's going on everybody?

Name's Jeff.  Ride a '93 GS500E, and love it.  I attend Film school in St. Louis, MO.

Just laying down my standard issue greeting.  Really glad I'm finally a GS owner.
