27m Grad Student. East Pennsylvania. I was attracted to the GS500 because of its looks, air cooled engine and its really low Insurance rates. I've owned 3 bikes in my life.

#1 1980 Yamaha Champ 50cc scooter (wrecked it enough times to send it to the scrap yard)
#2 1982 Honda CM250c (Sold it to a freind)
#3 1998 Suzuki GS500E (Current bike)

I am 20 years old and my 2005 GS500F is my first and only bike besides my old Yamaha 100 dirtbike.  I'm from Clemson, SC and I am a rising Jr. at Clemson University.
Those who think they know it all are very annoying to those of us who do.

30 y/o male, North Florida, picked up a '93 GS500e that had been sitting for three years, now working on getting it up to riding shape. My second bike - my first one was a 2001 SV650 that went the way of the dodo after 16 hours (woman pulled out in front of me on the way to work and went splat).

Working on putting this GS back into running order, which is fun because I know just enough to change my oil :)

Waddup fools.  My name is Chris, 25 from Georgia.  Just got a 1999 GS500E from a buddy and I want to start fixing it up and learn how to ride.  Did my msf a few weeks back and have my motorcycle endorsement on my license.  I just need gear and insurance.  Also, does Buddah still do the carb repair stuff?

Hey guys (and girls)...A new GS500 convert from the Louisville, Kentucky area. Just became a recent owner of a 2005 GS500F...first time bike owner. Looked long and hard for a first bike, was thinking about getting a Ninja 250 till I saw a GS for sale on Craigslist...After sitting on it and hearing it...I knew it was the bike for me (for my first one, anyway). Been getting used to it; first putting around the neighborhood to short trips around town. Plan to take the MSF later in the summer. I really, really like this bike. I hope to learn A LOT about taking care of this 'zuki both mechanically and performance-wise through this site...Will post a shot or two soon.

I'm Mike, 50 years old. Living in rural South-East PA (Pennsylvania Dutch Country) with my wife, 5 kids and two dogs (the Applecrew).  Just bought a new 07 500F for commuting to work (70 miles a day round trip).  This is my second bike - my first is a 73 RD-350.  I'm gonna miss the smoker when I sell her, but it's time to move on.  I'm loving my 500, it's perfect for the task.  Not too much power to get into trouble with, economical, and fun as hell.

See ya on the road, I'm the one wearing a huge grin!  Ride safe!

Hi everyone,

My name's Heath. I'm from San Diego, CA, and am the proud owner of a brand new, 2008 GS500F. I've been riding for 3 years out of my 31 years on this planet. I got into a pretty good sized wreck last November and I'm happy as a clam to be back in the saddle. I hope to learn a lot from you fellow GS owners. I'm glad to have found this forum and community!

Cheers,
-Heath

Welcome to the nut haus everyone.

Don't mind the nice people in white coats with syringes full of tranquilizer, we can still sneak out for a ride if we're quiet.
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Then you've made a good move joining this forum.  There's some great folk around with bucket-loads of knowledge... and the willingness to pass it on.

Thanks all!
