Carbon Finish

I am looking to order some bike parts from the Internet.  Some parts have a "carbon finish".  Does this mean they have a carbon fiber coating of some sort or is it just a pattern painted on the part?

most parts that are a carbon finish means that they have that carbon fiber look painted on or something similar.  Real carbon fiber parts are pretty expensive and I've yet to see the for the 500
