To me.. Jail... Gaol.. Prison is all the same... If your in ... Your incarcerated = Jail... Gaol.. Prison.

Yeah I know .... Used to be same for me... But the Missus has a recent fascination with tv shows of incarceration etc... Jail is where you go for misdemeanour or pre sentencing ... Prison is where you spend long stretches of your life trying to convince the authorities that 'you have found Jesus and should be released' ....

My mates refer to it as 'a trip up north'
