New tank cover, clip-ons, flush-mounts, pegs, exhaust, hardly looks crashed now!

I had a thread awhile ago detailing my crash. Now lets take a look at what I've done to fix all the cosmetic damage. Everything is done other than the right side fairings.

New clip-ons; Billet aluminum by some guy on ebay, $90 shipped. Leatherette tank cover by Top Saddlery, $120 shipped from France. I really like the tank cover because it covers up all the scratches and dents from the crash and I no longer have to worry about scratching my tank! Lovely.

Lockhart-Philips flush mounts, I got them on ebay for $19. Seem like decent visibility because they use traditional bulbs. Not DOT approved:

GSX aluminum foot pegs, modified to fit based on the wiki.

Stock exhaust pipe in better condition than the one that came with my bike. The rash from the crash was worst here. $20 from forum member Bluehaze - thanks!

I also replaced the right mirror and right side engine case - not that interesting. The best additions were the foot pegs and clip ons which drastically changed the riding position for the better. I'm 6' and found that small people who sit on my bike are very uncomfortable, so careful if you decide to do these mods if you are not as tall.

That tank cover is awesome!  I didn't see one on the website with the white embroidery and "GS" logo though.  Did you custom request it?  I want one for my 93 GS but the site only listed one for 2002+ models.  Anyone think It would fit mine?  I really have to look into that.  Nice looking bike yourself.

I had no idea that it was going to have the GS logo. A nice surprise, they don't show it on their website.
I doubt it would fit the older style tanks, this one fits like a glove so I think it is extremely specific. It's a real shame they don't make a version for your bike.

I love the cover, you can see in the pictures there are metal loops that are designed to attach to their proprietary tank bags, however it happened to be the correct placement for the D-rings on my tank bag allowing me to just velcro my bag on. No more ugly magnet flaps coming out the sides of my tank bag. It is also nice in the morning because the tank is no longer ice cold, and there is more friction between the bike and my legs so its easier to hold on.

Here is my bike with my Axio tank bag. Notice how its just attached strait to the tank cover.

I doubt it, in '01 the tanks increased in size and the shape was changed I believe. Might want to contact them.

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

Very nice.

Saw those tank covers on eBay and was curious how they looked.  Very cool addition  :thumb:

Yeah, I sent them an email asking if they could make one, but they are in France, so I hope they can read English!  My tank has some nasty sticker spots that I'm going to reclear over(probalby won't look too good after it's done), but the tank cover would be absolutely solve my problems.  I'd say it's worth 100$ as opposed to 250-300$ that it would cost to repaint.  I do hope they can make one for me.  I'll let everyone know if they do infact.

Don't buy the ebay one's. They are $150+$60 shipping.
If you order from their website directly it is 99 euros shipped. Current exchange rate = $127.45 a much better deal.
