G1 vs the world (not really)

Played iwth a Palm Pre for a minute. Awesome operating system. Almost as cool as Android. It's really cool how it fits the hand. Good thing too, cause when you open the keyboard, you're going to want to smash it against other river-stone shaped objects. IT SUCKS when the keyboard is out. sharp edges everywhere, tiny, tiny keys. argh.

ya, if palm gets their collective heads out their asses, and reworks the ergos, it will be killer.

so we have:
1) iphone ( i know, i know)
2) anything Android (you wait, this thing is badass and only growin )
3) pre
everything else is shaZam!. complete shaZam!.

lol, right now im using a samsung t919 behold. i have a virtual qwerty, but i need a better one, hell with all this weight im losing, wish my thumbs would get smaller. but NOOOOOOOO   lol

Yeah, G1 is like 90% everything the iphone is but not as sleek or smooth or fast. But also not as expensive...take your pick.

i've been pretty happy with my samsung onmia. 8gb internal with an expansion card slot capable of another 16gb. only things that kinda suck are the proprietary connectors and the fact your locked (currently) to vz navigitor

The G1 is pretty neat, but like BS up there, I think the aesthetics SUCK!!!!  It looks like a small, flat black brick.
As far as the Pre, Palm rushed it out when they found out that Apple was popping out another little jesusphone and left some things unfinished.
As for the new 3GS (got my hands on one to play with), buggy as HELL.  The compass feature works about 20% of the time and it's only minimally faster than a 3G.

I luv my LG Vu! Got a great site for modding as well. Like watching Comedy Central, Cnn, FNC, MSNBC, movies, and Espn to name a few! Then a ton of free games for it!

all the on screen keyboards suck. not that it isn't one of the coolest tech things ever.... they just suck. the whole "touch something that provides no feedback in order to input information" (no, shaking isn't the kinda feedback we're talking about) just plain sucks. tiny fingers, big fingers don't matter.

you simply cannot find F and J on a on-screen keyboard without looking at it.

maybe someone will get a really smart algo going that senses when you mean to type something, and when you're just looking for the center of the keyboard.

the ergos on the g1 do suck ... in some circumstances, like typing a 300 word email. i try not to, or wait until later on when i'm at home with the wonderful flat mac keyboard.

the palm, man, what were they thinking with those razor sharp edges ? ouch !

the g1, man, what were they thinking with that huge block next to the keyboard ? ouch !

the iphone, man, what were they thinking with no physical keyboard ? suck ! (oh ya, they were thinking about the -next- model to be released, just like apple always does !)

Still diggin my instinct till the pre comes out with a video and better keyboard then we're in business.
