Well Thanks for everyones feed back you made my decision easier. I really liked the ones that bassmechanicsz has from Tour Master but they are more then I was willing to pay so I settled for a similar pair from FieldSheer which will be an exact match for my jacket anyway. I'll let you know if I have any issues once I get them and start wearing them!   :thumb:

They were on sale here: http://www.newenough.com/closeouts/textile_jackets_and_pants/fieldsheer/mercury_textile_motorcycle_pants.html

If you gotta get cheap I pretty much don't see much cheaper than these.

Those aren't bad but they don't have armor only soft pads. Maybe some one else will snap them up! :thumb:

Yup! Those are the one's I have. I think they are fantastic, and at that price you can't go wrong. They were definitely worth the $150 I paid back in December.

Bummer dude they are 1/2 price right now

The silver/black would match my silver/black helmet and bike so perfectly! And less than 100$?! Im tempted to just spontaniously order these right at this very moment. Those are a very very nice find. Did you already order?

Like everything else I'm sure you get what you pay for.  I have some leather pants I got off www.leatherup.com but the leather is thinner than the icon leather jacket I have.

ohgood- Thanks for the advice.  I guess it's vain but I like the look of the kevlar jeans over the leather pants.  I'm sure that will change after a long pavement slide   :o Have you tried the mesh fabric on the grinding wheel?  I have a Joe Rocket summer mesh jacket that I'm dubious over how well it would hold up in a crash. Thanks

-Jessie

the mesh stuff looks like it will melt, move, and armor go away pretty quickly in a sliding crash. a crash, as in impact with something hard i don't think anything will actually protect other than a full on Bear Suit which isn't conducive to motorcycling.

ya, i know, leather is expensive. tighter is betterer. thicker is bettterer. hotter is well, hotterer.

gloves, mine prolly aren't good enough, but they're what i have. i think 'good' for the hands would be 1/4" of real cowhide, with plastic (slides well) and metal (resists breaking bones) in the knuckle areas.

there is no 'safe' motorcycle wear. it just prevents you seeing a nasty reminder about that crash that broke your leg for the rest of your life. you know, skin being yours and all.

:)

Yep they're on order should get them today or tomorrow. Me and Bluesmudge will keep you posted on their performance, wear, comfort, over heating and such.

I agree with everything you said but some armor is better then none. I have a leather jacket for the winter but rinding in that over 70F degrees forget it. I couldn't imagine Leather pants too. I am not out there racing my bike I am a casual cruising daily commuter. While what I am wearing is not optimal protection is 100% better then street close that I have to wear for work.

Thanks, but there will be no need. I ordered me a pair also, just too good a deal to pass up. Now we just gotta see who gets theirs first. Mine shipped out of TX it looks like. But I paid for hella slow shipping. Haha

Cool Beans. I thought it was a good deal too. I really wanted those Tour Masters bassmechanicsz has though they looked really sharp compared to these. But as you said for that price? I'll wear them for a year and if I still want the TM pair I'll wait until they go on sale and have those for my good pair and use the Fieldsheer for everyday use.
