Is this thing really going to save my back and my front? I dont see how because it looks so light. Does anyone wear this? please let me know i want to know... This sounds good but i doubt it will be of any good if i am riding 100 mph and fall from my bike...... I would like ur 2 cents...!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and thanks to all the guys that posted all those websites i can get gear from!!!!  :star: :star: :star: :star:

I have seen professional stunters wearing this on the show Superbikes on Speed.  Not sure what it will do for you at higher speeds though.

What about your arms? They are going to take most of the force in  a slower speed fall and if you are just wearing that at freeway speeds and go down you will probably lose all your arm skin.

Not sure if its much of a chest protector but I think it is a fantastic back protector.

Oh buddy i learned that first hand. I was trying to push start my motorcycle in 2nd gear and i wasnt on the bike. All of a sudden it hit 20 mph and i couldnt keep up with it. I fell on my arm and it still hurts right now... You are right but i am thinking about getting a jacket or something for that later on... oh yeah thats another question i had. Do you know of anything that protects your arms and shoulders only? that i can wear along with this thing....

thanks man.

well that sounds really good then...

Icon makes elbow and knee protectors in the same style as this back/chest protector. They should be fine for stunting/city riding where you don't get about 50mph but I wouldn't trust them to do much in a highway speed fall.

I would just go with a leather jacket with built in spine protector.  like this one  http://www.universaldesigns.ca/UDR/store/TDK/TDK.html
gsxr shock
katana FE
99 katana front rim swap
vapor gauge cluster
14 tooth sprocket
95 on an 89 frame
lunchbox
V&H ssr2 muffler
jetted carbs
150-70-17 pilot road rear
120-70-17 sportmax front
sv650 rear wheel
sv650 tail swap
gsxr pegs
GP shift

Any motorcycle jacket worth its weight in salt will have CE shoulder and elbow armor, which should be plenty, plus the abrasion protection can't be beat.  Right now a lot of great jackets are on clearance at online retailers everywhere  :).  Combine those with that vest and you'd probably be pretty good if you're in a crash and just wind up sliding along (well.... minus your legs i guess but :dunno_white:).

www.newenough.com is where I get all my gear, there are plenty of other sites around, just look back a few days (or search) at the gear posts and you should be all set :thumb:

Was wearing this when I crashed going 60+ mph on a turn at the track....  no back injuries.  but of course it all depends how you landed..  but no back injury of any sort on my situation.  its definitely worth it along with other gear..not by itself.

Get a jacket with decent armor (Newenough.com closeouts, if you don't have a decent cycle shop nearby; if you do, buy from them to support a place that lets you try things on).

Then throw out the piece of Styrofoam in the back pocket and get a CE level 2 back protector.  T-Pro, Knox, Dainese, Alpinestars, and some other folk I'm not remembering make 'em.

I know that this is different in different areas, but where I live the motorcycle shops cater to DIRT riders (which I am not one of).  They have a few textile street jackets, usually of lesser brands, but almost no other protective gear.

Thats why I buy online... not all shops stock good gear, plus you save a bundle.

Don't really know why I'm posting this - I think I just wanted to vent about the lack of street/track support in my area (understandable since there are no tracks, but still :dunno_white:)

The problem is that all these jackets are above my limit.. they are around 300-700.... i just want something to go along for now... and the one i posted above seems reasonable and also if i get some shoulders/knee protectors(they are cheaper) then it will be the same protection i guess?

i think it looks badass !

btw - anyone that says $1000 is alot of money hasn't seen what skin grafts cost. as an added bonus, you get to keep all your skin, RIGHT WHERE IT IS NOW instead of painfully stretched, relocated, and scarred 1/4 thick.

really man, skin is amazing stuff. $1000 for a gs is fine, but keeping skin for a meer 3,4, 500 or $1000 is too much ? wow ! the gs can wad up and you could care less. wad you skin up. think about it.

:)
