Contemplating the metaphysical with rationality is not far off from beating your head against a wall in efforts to discover what's on the other end- Using empirical science is like trying to figure out what's behind the wall by the sound of the thud.

thought I'd throw in a few more more "don't treat the road as your playground" videos

No need for that.  You should be riding at prudent speeds wherever you are.  Besides, most accidents happen within 3 miles of home.  That's where we spend most of our time and tend to be more complacent.  I'm someone who believes that riding too slow is begging for someone to run you over from behind.  Too fast is dangerous.  So is too slow.

Lots of people who have been caught out on mountain roads like this (http://www.edmontonsportriderz.com/forumvb/showthread.php?t=31578)

You don't even have to be going warp speed, just come around a corner and see something that spooks you and make an error. This was an area well-known as "bail-off bridge" that this group of riders obviously were not prepared for.

I ride The Pace ~ fast enough to make the ride interesting where I can see or know what's up ahead, and much easier on the brake pads.

Too slow... :icon_rolleyes:

Fairly new rider not going fast, but unfortunately just a little too much for a tricky road. Area he crashed in is well-known to locals as 'bail-off bridge'

don't treat the racetrack as a street either!

Also too slow will make people want to overtake you. Some drivers/riders will get impatient and try risky passing maneuvers which endanger their life and yours.

Lmao! I think that is more of a case of why you don't take your Harley into the twisties. They would need a tow truck to winch that lump outta that ditch. The best line was "Oh dude.....You think they"re gonna beat on us?"  :D

ragecage23

it's a little of both. I was dying when they were like, "stop stop stop....we better, they're going to beat our asses...yeah we better get outta here....stop....let's get the f*ck out of here" haha that was great

I think that's a better example of riding beyond your ability than riding beyond your bike's ability. A friend of mine rides a VTX1800 and he handles twisties just fine when a group of us goes riding. The guy (or gal) in the video just made a bad decision and lacked the riding ability to correct it. It could have happened on any bike.
