Had the rear tire on my 919 repaired due to puncture. Somehow I got a nice one inch long nail in it...

And fitted a sideways facing air valve to make it easier to check tire pressures and add air when needed.

I went to the one around the corner from my place instead. Bloke in Nerang wanted me to make an Appointment - no walk ins. Besides, he sounded reluctant/hesitant to repair it when I asked if he did that kind of thing, blabbered something about cheaper to buy a new tyre in some instances.

Bloke around the corner did it right there and then while I waited, made me a cuppa, put on a sideways mounted valve and gave me another for my front when it needs replacing. And I met a contract postie who brought in a front tyre and tube to be inserted and who ordered a new front tyre. Had a nice chat with him too. I think it was Him who I saw with the postie bike on the back whizzing up the highway at 4am a few months back - he does Carbrook/Cornubia out of Logan.

Suffering from that feeling you get when your child leave home for the big city (Trey has a new home), I went riding on Vashon today. Phenix found a new road. One lane - like a roller coaster.

Imagine what is around that bend. Every turn is blind. On the other side: could be another bend to the right, the left, up hill, down hill or any combination. You really have to be on your toes to ride this road. Twisties where every turn is blind is ....  well......cool - you have zero sight lines. The next turn or something will be on you in less than 100 feet around that bend.

I'm not a big fan of those kinds of roads. It isn't so much the hairpins it's the blindness. I don't trust other people to be behaving nicely. Narrow road, big car, blind corners, he ain't going anywhere, you are!

Bought a paddock stand for it and cleaned the chain.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Easy solution for that ... Ride it at night! .. The view lines thru the corners don't change .. But you get advanced warning of cars by their headlight beam  :thumb: .. That's my favorite thing in summer .. Go for a rip up the local mountain rd in the dark .. Not terminal speeds but moving along nicely .. And just concentrating on what's in my headlight beam without scenery distractions

It's a bit of a throwback to many years interstate truck driving too ... Most of the distance at night when it's quieter  O0

If I was to go riding twisties like that late at night, I'm likely to hit a moose! :o

Well actually, living in Newfoundland, I'm pretty much always risking hitting a moose, like this past weekend!

No animals or bikes were injured in the making of this comment, just a pair of pants. :icon_lol:
Save a horse, ride a bike!

Janx101

yeah .. faceplant into the ribs of a moose!!.. that'd ruin the whole evening!  :icon_lol:

but where i am .. few feral Rusa deer up in the area , few little wallabies (small cousins of kangaroos) , few other small critters .. but they tend to scatter into the scrub pretty quick ..

and its nowhere near as tight as Adidas brand new fav road! .. one of these days i'm gonna get myself a ride cam and just do a nice sedate series of runs over some of the local roads... for the info of our international brethren..

there are vids out there already but most of them are 'max attack' hoon runs and its hard to see the overall 'serenity'

plus having them filmed from a GS500 will of course make it that much more better-er-er!!

I've never seen Trey look so happy! She is giving him so much love  :kiss3: it makes me glad to have let you adopt him.
(And also that you didn't change his name  :icon_lol: )
I can't wait for Trey to make a visit back to the Bike Cave for old times sake.

I tried to make fork spacers for my 2005 GS500F. I followed the Guy from Spain on the modification page. I got the spacers in but had no give at all, solid as a rock. So I took them out, what happened? Anyone know, Thanks Mike

Are you sure you're on stock springs?

Finally picked up a full V&H system and installed it last night  :)   Sounds way better than the stock and now I don't have to listen to the "K&N lunchbox + stock exhaust is a bad idea" posts anymore  :flipoff:
