Changed my chain guard...
Yes - it looks so much better now  :icon_lol:

Yep, it does  :icon_mrgreen:

Good work on those I must say.  :thumb:

When I changed it out I noticed the black OEM washer doesn't fit cause it has a lip. But it would have looked funny anyway. And the screws keep it snug enough. So all good.

That lip on the washer is on many parts of the GS. The purpose of it is so you don't tighten the screw so hard you smash the beejeebers out of plastic parts. Thread lock is all you need. A star lock washer or similar if you wish.

Yeah, I have some red but not blue. Don't want to use the red cause I might want to take it off one day when my GS has reached a rip old age and is in for retirement. - or for needing to take the chain guard off - so I'll need to get myself some blue.

Put new tank rubbers on as well as rubber strip around bottom of tank.
Redirected the clutch and choke cables to where they are supposed to go.
Ran bike for half hour just because!
Putting a new chain on it Sunday :woohoo:
I am not interested in anything you have to say

Sprockets look fairly new so the PO must have already done it

Rode to work.  It was 100* F.  It was like an oven.  I installed the neodymium magnets on the center stand to trip red lights.  Thank GOD cause when I was stopped, I thought I was going to pass out from the heat if I had to wait at the red lights any longer.

Not my bike, but I helped member iclrag. He stopped by the West Seattle Bike Cave for a chain guard. His horn was not working so he took a couple to try and we found a nearly perfect side emblem for his bike. I guess we have a long distance member in the group now. He drive a car. Here he is sitting on Phenix - discovering the Gimbel rear sets fit him better than stock pegs. He also is eying an extra set of ASV levers with the SV clutch perch and custom cable.

I want those mirrors!

SV OEM mirrors are like hen's teeth around these parts, 2nd hand.

I added a 12 volt power outlet, some side markers, removed the SUZUKI lettering (never really liked it) and added some Team SUZUKI colors on the lower part of the fairing.

Yes! Incredibly hot around here.  Overnight low was 83F! Supposed to be upto 105F today with a heat index at 112F....

A note about red lights though... Illinois passed a law for riders that they can actually run the red light after a 'reasonable' amount of time... Our local municipality has supported this law well, as many of our traffic sensor do not pick up riders.  I could only imagine how frustrating it would be to just sit there, especially in this weather.

Oklahoma does this as well and I use it all the time. Newer traffic lights pick me up quickly but some of the old lights in downtown OKC will leave you sitting there all day.

I like that power outlet placement  :thumb: .. Been wondering where to put mine ... Now I know!

But what I did ... Topped up batt water and charged .. Went for a 2 hour local cruise around for the heck of it .... Realized the replaced left fork seal is still leaking/ leaking again ...  ... Wiped off the oil and put it back on the to do list

Still it was a good ride with a mate along on his bike too so I count the day as a win

Yesterday I changed her oil with a SAE 10W-40 semi-synthetic (engine really purrs now) and also replaced the plugs (they were the originals), cleaned the air filter and cleaned and lubed the chain, man what a mess!

Tried to start her up before buttoning her all back up, and she sounded really funny and wouldn't stay running, was thinking I had really messed something up when I discovered that one of the spark plugs wasn't connected! Well, at least I know she could run on one cylinder if she had to, lol :cookoo:

Today is bath time and waxing! She should look all purty after driving in the rain last week! :thumb:

Finished painting and installing new (to me) mud guard and new mud flap. I also added another stock fork brace and repainted them both.

Here are some pics of the installed fender, complete with new mud flap:

Here is what it is replacing. Melted rear of the old mud guard and no mud flap.

-Replaced the speedo&tacho lights to blue LED's - took longer to find suitable washers to stop the gauges from vibrating and wobbling than it did to open it all up and swap the bulbs!

-Adjusted the angle of the gear lever. Discovered i had it in the best fitting angle to begin with so tightened it up.

-Bent the left foot peg back into line. Its been slightly bent inwards from the PO probably dropping it.

-Replaced a broken rubber O'ring on the passenger foopeg and bodged a C-clip because i broke the original. Oops.

And then it rained! So my jobs for tomorrow: swap air filter, check plugs & adjust carbs, adjust rear brake lever, check brake pads, and why inst my high beam working?

I gave him a couple spares from the bike cave - stock horns. His original horn didn't horn at all.

Cool.  I do a lot of commuting, and ended up with the Stebel Nautilis horn.  135+ decibles.  Fvcking loud.  Hurts the ears.
