Sold the drz.. :woohoo: :icon_neutral:

Managed to make little off of it, but I will surely miss it! It's been a faithful bike, but wanted another payment off my head. Just met the kid at 7am after hauled 6 hours here to get it! Now time to work on the gs :thumb:

Nice drz!!! I've been looking at those lately. I'm thinking a supermoto would be a lot of fun. They have a lower seat then most supermotos too and I'm only 5'3''. Would you recommend one? Any issues to look out for?

Excellent weather all this week so Ive been doing a lot of riding.

Bought the wife a scooter (150cc) and been working on getting it running

What upsets me is there are a LOT of engine upgrades, coil/CDI upgrades and so much more for her 150cc and we have NONE! He stock carb is a 24mm and yet I can buy a 26/30/32mm carb. Yet we can do nothing to our carbs except jets

Figure out a cheap, reliable and effective EFI setup.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Thanks mang! I would highly recommend the drzSM, if you have a shorter commute. The saddle isn't the best for longer rides, and that's my only complaint(more like a grip tho) I had mine setup with lowered rear links and the lower profile seat. I'm 5'6 and could nearly flat foot mine. It was a great ride, I'll miss it like crazy, but wanted another payment off my head. I've got my eyes out for another drz project bike though!

@ stevo - Nice yama!!

@ weedahoe - I head ya mang!! I'm working on an oldschool 77 Garelli moped and have multiple carbs, intakes, exhausts, coils, cdi boxes, clutch setups. And the Garelli's are less popular for aftermarket parts! Puch mopeds have insane amount of high performance parts available. That's the main reason i got into peds - was looking to do more custom engine work w/o going bankrupt

Hard to do on an air cooled engine.  Possible, but hard to do.  Heard of one guy who attempted it, but never could get the fuel mappings right.

Oh please the amount of EFI air cooled bikes out there something can be figured out.

so they offer a lower profile seat for the drz-sm? I knew about the lowering link. I was just going to have the seat shaved. I sat on an old dr350, they have the same seat height, I could manage but it would help to be lowered. I will definitely be trail riding with it too. mainly just a commuter for in town riding though.

Busy Day.  After work went to the dealer to talk to them about key blanks.  Yep, Codajastal and Adidasguy, and others were right.  They will work...Dealer pointed me to their keymaster down the road.  Only problem is that they are open 8-5 M-F, and I work nowhere near there.  Hey, at least the keys were not a waste... :woohoo:

Then met GStwin user WORM to buy some more M5 stainless cap screws.  Hard to get to the fastener store when you have a day job downtown nowhere near the nuts and bolts place.

Spent 10 minutes chatting about bikes in the cold.

Rode home.  To my surprise, my windshield arrived from UPS :thumb:.  A Zero Gravity Sport Touring (Factory 2nd).  Used my new screws to install.  Those well nuts are a PITA.  I swear I spent 30 minutes twisting, wrestling, whatever...Definitely a learning curve.

That Garelli is sweeeet!  Why are there two levers on the left handle bar?

Got mine placed on last night too.  Sadly no pictures with it on the bike, as my fingers were too cold to grant me anymore time out in the garage.

The only thing I don't like about the aftermarket screen is the black suzuki sticker thats on the OEM screen is no longer there to cover that part of the cowl above the headlight.  I sourced the sticker, and cheapest I could find was $45... Needless to say, I won't be purchasing it for that price.  I might make my own little something to place there, but I dunno for sure yet.

'Preciate it! I'm stoked to get that beast up and running. Going to be a fun in town ripper for sure.

It has 1 speed w/ auto clutch, so the top lever is the rear brake and bottom lever is the starter clutch(squeeze and kick)

Since the temp was approaching 50* this afternoon, I decided to start it up and run it for a bit. I swapped in the Shorai battery I bought for it a couple months back. Even straight out of the box, the Shorai had more than enough umph to get it going. After checking and topping off the oil, I rolled it back into its storage position and put it back on the center stand.

I would have taken it for a little ride, but the wife is out of town for a couple days and I'm home with my 5 yr old. Even if we had gear for her, I wouldn't trust that she could hold on yet. Plus, I don't really have cold weather gear, so the temp was a little below my threshold.

Here's hoping for another insane warmup in Feb like last year (I think we hit almost 80*) in Feb...definitely not normal for Michigan.
It seems it has become necessary to qualify my posts:
I am/am not trying to start an argument. This post is/is not intended to be a personal attack. I am/am not merely attempting to present a different viewpoint.

Revved the bike to 8k for the first time today, t'was quite fun (it's taken me over 1k miles to gather the courage, lol).

Also, got the kat shock in the mail that I was waiting for. Will do the swap sometime this week or weekend. It's all pretty 'n new.

With my clips-ons mounted, the original mounts for the original bars have been bothering me. So the two top clamps I have, I milled down the clamps smooth as I could and am using a metal putty to fill in low spots and the holes for the screws. Its been slow work since I so many other things going on too. I am doing two because I have two complete sets of fairings, two tanks and two sets of forks that will all be painted two different colors.

Anyway, here is where Im at so far
