Look at what I went through with my tank in the link in my signature.  It's held up well for over a year and 2500 miles though.

newbie1993

How long did it take for the sealer to dry in your tank ?

bombsquad83

The directions say 96 hours (4 days) before you should put fuel in the tank.  I don't remember how long mine sat before fuel, but I waited at least that long.

afx500

Looked at mine with a sad face on because of this relentless rain last couple days.  :icon_sad:
:)

Got the carbs dialed in, picked up new plugs, oil and filter. All thats left is is to check the valve shims and the tuneup will be all done. Been out riding every day!  Man I love this little bike now that its running right.

Was supposed to have already started bringing this one back from the dead:

But then I wanted to "just wash the bugs off my shield".. and that turned into another complete detail. Still have some stuff to fix.. shave the tail more, New brake light, Exhaust stickers to match paint,  new front fender with guard, etc..

Really liking the new addtions however:

I would take it elsewhere to get some shots and still will, but living on dirt roads means its dusty as soon as I pull away. :cookoo:

There you go!

Looks good. Will look great on your bike with the black to accent it.

I "washed" it.

This means I rode in the rain, then wiped it off with a towel.  :cookoo:

Thats the whole point of owning it right? I think I spent 1/2 as long today washing as I did riding.. now that its dark I realize my "mistake".

Rode it for the first time in a week n a half. Need to pump up the tyres and lube the chain.
Some say that he submitted a $20000 expense claim for some gravel

And that if he'd write a letter of condolance he would at least spell your name right.

Today - nothing.

Yesterday - Spent 4 hours riding, Mostly country roads. Covered 80mile, most relaxing ride ive had for a while.

Spent some time wrestling old rubber off the rims, then wrestling new Sport Demons on them.  :D  Front wheel is aired up and installed on the bike. Rear wheel is still sitting in the garage, needing to be aired up and installed. I decided that it was a good time to call it quits last night after I managed to get both beads set on the rear wheel (2nd attempt, only got 1 bead set the first time). Well, the 75-80% humidity and being drenched with sweat and couldn't stand it anymore helped me determine it was time to quit.

Overall, I'd say it was good experience, even though it was a Buddha Loves You at times. I can't help but wonder if getting the tire onto the rear rim might have been easier if I had used a 130/70 instead of a 140/17?

Not wortht the $20 just to have someone else do it?

$20? Cheapest I could find around here was $50 for the pair, mounted and balanced, off the bike. And that "shop" was just a guy with a garage big enough to hold 8 bikes, the sign out front isn't even big enough to be read from the road.

Snake2715

Yeah I meant $20 per rim off the bike. So to be correct $40. Even if the front is easy it might have been worht the $20 for the back.

I hear you though if you can do it yourself go for it, sometimes the frustration and time isnt worth it.
