My 2006 bike got a license plate today. Yes, I know it doesn't have wheels or a motor yet but that is not required to get a license plate.
(The frame in the plastic wrap also has a license plate!)

Let the bike builds begin  :woohoo:

Pulled and cleaned the carbs on the 94 today, finished up at 1 PM. Just finished the bondo work on the tank dent on the 89, ready for some urethane primer if the rain lets up. I'm trying to decide if I want to go back with the white with blue stripes that were original in 89, or maybe a different paint color altogether. Always liked the metallics that are about the same color as a new penny.

Trying to sort out the issue with my throttle... when I put the R1 tube in I discovered I had a lot of free play in the cable. Tightened it up and it opens the throttle when turning right... d'oh!

Pulled the tank off tonight and discovered I've actually routed it completely wrong

Will make a bit of a compromise in adjustment and next service in a couple of weeks will see me routing it correctly  :thumb:

Thanks Kerry and a happy birthday to you too.  You should end up with a lot more riding years than me by the time your 81, I didn't start riding until I was 52.

And thanks to Soloratov and steezin_and_wheezin too for the birthday wishes.   :thumb:

Put on Rox Risers and GSXR 1100 rearsets. Well, I did this last weekend... But I rode it today lol. I don't know if it was the GSXR master cylinder, or the fresh brake fluid, but my rear brake is incredibly responsive now.

Started building another one with help from bluesmudge and jmill. Should be on the road next weekend. 2 weeks at most.

Old Mechanic

Picked up two oil filters today and a quart of Valvoline synthetic 10W40 motorcycle oil. Changed the oil and filter in the 94 this afternoon. No broken bolts or stripped threads, everything went very smooth. The 94 is pretty much up to date on service and ready to go. I'll see soon how much the carb cleaning affected my mileage, hoping it will get better. Bike is running like new. Fresh oil made both bikes easier to get into neutral.

Oh and Happy Birthday Jack, you have 18 years on me, hope I am still riding at 81!
That's remarkable.
