Something like yours is definitely would work. I'll play around and see what I can make happen. If anything, I'll probably just purchase the same set up you have, thanks for the link.

Not very exciting but: degreased the entire engine, which was a helluva job due to the oil leak I'm experiencing. Now I will be able to try and spot the source of the oil when I ride to work tomorrow.  :thumb:

It's supposed to rain this afternoon, so I gave it the day off.  First time I've had to drive my truck to work in three weeks, I'm really bummed.  I've ridden more in the past couple of months then I have in the last few years since I've finally gotten some lingering bike issues taken care of and the weather has been great and I've been loving every day.

Good for you getting to ride more.
I have only driven a 4 wheeler to work 4 times in the last 2+ years.

I swapped out the factory CR8E's for 4 CR8EIX Iridium spark plugs and tightened 1 of the 4 coils (causing a misfire on #2) .....on my GSX650F. I will admit the GS500 is way easier to work on, but I will never give up the 2 extra cylinders or the EFI  :thumb:

Sorry everyone. I've been negligent in my duty to thread-jack every thread with cat pictures. I'll try harder.
Here's one for working on your bike.

Rejetted last night, and replaced some vacuum lines while I was there.  WOW, what an improvement with the rejet.  I can't believe I didn't 'drink the water' sooner.  Interested to see where it take my mileage, but not that big of a deal to begin with.

Also, carb screws are a B****!  I had JIS screwdrivers in prep for this excursion, and they still stripped like crazy.  After stripping the first two so easily, I got the dremel out and cut slots in them for a perfect fit on a flathead impact screwdriver.  Came out easily with that.  Thank goodness for Buddha's jet kit which came with the Allen head replacement screws for the bowls.

Replaced the bulbs in both gauges and all 4 indicator bulbs.  Gauge bulbs were burnt out, now I can see how fast I'm going at night!  :woohoo:

It will probably improve, but then you might be spooling it more....now that your engine does what your hand tells it  :thumb:

Renewed the tabs for the Husky bike build. In doing it, I saw the title said it was a 600SW (a Bandit model) though everything else was correct and the VIN indicated GM51A which is GS500.

So, to show how cool things are here in West Seattle, I went to the local licensing office.

"There is an error in the model. It should be GS500"
them: "OK. Are you planning on selling it in the next 30 days?"
"No. It is being painted"
them: "OK. I have to take this title and you will get the new one within 30 days. I'll put in for a free replacement title"
"Thank you,. I also need to renew the tabs"
them: "I'll do the new title first then the tabs. Oh, darn. It won't let me change the model. I'll call the main office in Olympia."
She gets right through - and on their end change the model.
them: "Well, it shows GS500 but still had the GSE/RS and I can't get rid of that"
"That's OK. As long as there is GS500 and not 600SW, if I sell it that's OK. Models are just human  data because the VIN is the real model."
and so I walk out a couple minutes later with new tabs and the new title will be here in a couple weeks.

One can never imagine that renewing tabs and correcting data on a title can be so easy, simple and fast. In fact, every time I have to transfer a title, buy or sell a bike at the West Seattle office they are just so darn helpful.

Maybe because the licensing office is a private franchise and not a full fledged government office? Who knows. What might be a frightful task to do turns out to be amazingly easy.

Last time I renewed my drivers license, I rode out to North Bend and walked right up to the counter. I would rather ride for 45 minutes rather than stand in line at any of the DOL's in or around Seattle

Got my bike towed home, punctured rear tire about an hour away from home. Little tiny gash right in the center of the tire in the middle of a tread block. Less than 3,000km on these tires, what a piss-off.

And it happened on Friday the 13th with 33,333km on the bike. Weird.

Yea - West Seattle DOL can be a pain but on-line you can get estimated wait time and go there when it is empty.
Glad the licensing office on California is always empty and they are really helpful. Once when buying a parts bike with questionable title, they even ran  the VIN and confirmed the sellers story (hence a motor for Phenix, frame for someone else, wheels went elsewhere.....and bike is off the radar as far as the title is/was concerned)

Got the bike moslty apart except for the engine and tires. Just got my New frame in but had to go to work. Cant wait to finish taking apart and doing a refresh.

Took off all the plastic (it's a F model) and reassembled. I was going to add turn signal mirrors from a GSX, but after taking everything apart I discovered that the mirrors don't adjust the way I thought they would. After that, I did an r6 rear shock swap.
