Can't wait to see that thing reassembled!

Dan

Thanks man! You're telling me. It's hard not to want to bolt it all up now. But she still needs sanding and clear, then more sanding, then polishing. But it's soooo close.

Plus, all that extra hp from the stripe will be interesting to get on the road. I'll do dyno tests to show the difference from stock. Maybe a sticker would bump it up a bit too....

Stainless steel chain guards add another 2 or 3 hp at the minimum.

Went for my last ride (it's currently o degrees out) and put her away to hibernate :(

Put in 2oz of stabilizer (1oz treats 9.5L of fuel). Went for a ride, did some runs on each petc0ck setting, came back home and topped up the gas tank right to the brim and shut her down. Took out the battery, put her up on stands, and gave her a pat on the gas tank.

That's my winter ride in the background. Gotta keep it in the Suzuki family.

All of my pre-storage cleaning went out the window after finding out the path to my backyard was a LOT muddier than I thought. Sport-touring tires apparently aren't made for mud. Ah well, it'll rinse right off in the spring.

New sprocket nut torqued up nicely yesterday but I had to make do with the old lock washer... discontinued part now  :technical:

And got my other bits, clutch cable (installed), rear wheel bearings, and dust seal:

Finally was able to ride to work again today after doing the clutch cable and sprocket nut... aaaaah that's better!

New rear tyre on Saturday and I'll do the rear wheel bearings while I've got the wheel out.

Not so much what I've done for the bike today... more what it's done for me.
Finished the resto stage#1, Another ol' bluey.
Here it is:

Here's how it was:

(And it was a LOT worse on the inside!)

I now hold the lap record for the Greendale dirt driveway.  :thumb:

Beam me up Scottie....

Nice to see the holden badge go.. how tacky.

Joolstacho

LOL, -you think the Holden badge was tacky, you should have seen the seller.
As I made him my final offer I was wondering which orifice he was going to pull his blade from!

you don't happen to know the make and part NO. for those disks do you???? they look SWEEEEEEET O0

also nice job on the restore mate
You can run, but you'll only die tired.
If you hit it with a hammer and it doesn't fix it, you have an electrical problem

"Ok first things first im down 3 tequila shots, 2 jager shots and avout 4 ciders so if this doesnt make sence im sorry"

Joolstacho

Yup, the discs were just about the best things on the bike when I got it!
The brand is: ARASHI
Front part no DBS1010W
Rear part no DBS2013W

Progress on the Husky bike.
Forks, wiring harness and wheels then a motor. Should be in a week or two to have a running bike.
Then I'm waiting for the painting to come.

Ordered 2 sets of wheel bearings at Aurora Suzuki (Husky and another project). They gave 20% off for the West Seattle Bike discount today! Cool!

Service time for my baby. Dropped off on way home to book it in and ended up leaving her there. Walking home helps you realize just how much you need that machine day to day, screw walkin'!   :nono:

Ordered the following:

Oil filter and o ring and stuff
Air filter
Dampers/o-ring thingo for the gauge cluster (they bounce around like crazy atm)
Suzuki sticker cause the one on the fairing got a little scuffed when I dropped it
Some screws for the fairing which disappeared in the aforementioned drop
Handlebar Balancer/damper Set (because one fell out while riding around  )

Plan for this weekend:

Service including oil, oil filter and air filter
New fork seals, dust seals and fork oil
wipe down front disc with metho cause the old seals put oil all over it (actually I have to do that today - goddamn it's so bad)
Prep fairing and engine case for touch up paint

It's my first time servicing a motorcycle so it should be fun - can't be harder than doing a car right?
