I doubt it, but typing in caps is annoying and rude.

if you find typing in caps anoying and rude, then you have real issues,i advise you spend time on those instead of being a duck. :nono: :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:

Depends on your warranty, but if you're talking about a basic or expanded factory warranty, then yes, modifications will void it.  You have to leave your bike bone-stock, no modifications whatsoever, in order to keep them valid.

Especially if you are rude and/or incapable of composing a proper, clear, and coherent internet missive; they just prey on folks like you.

lol.

It is considered rude and unnecessary to use all caps, it implies a yelling tone. I wouldn't go around calling people ducks, it's not only inaccurate but also not a very good way to get people to assist you.

Try dropping down to 4 Oreos and set your pilot screw 3 turns out.

Lets say you change the fork springs, then have something go wrong with the motor and claim under warranty. The assessor is not going to pull your forks apart to look at the springs, and even if he did he'd have to be a GS expert to notice the difference. If you were claiming for a leaky fork seal, they might look for signs that someone had used a monkey wrench and hammer to dismantle the forks!
On the other hand, if you do something obvious like a 'performance' exhaust then they will certainly use that to deny or reduce a claim for a faulty motor. They're in the business of making money.

And IMHO ducks are cute. As long as they don't  :flipoff: :flipoff: :flipoff:.

Don't worry, I have some real issues. Would that be a wood duck? Occasionally I'll be the wood duck, but I mostly leave it for those on faster bikes.

If the springs are the same crappy ballpoint pen units used on the older GS's, I would change them out.

If you have a major issue Suzuki will use ANYTHING to get out of fixing the bike. If you have a new GS make daym certian you have your service work done by a dealer. It suxs but if the motor say, spins a bearing at 6K and you did the oil changes yourself you are screwed. You will also have to pay the dealer that lies through their teeth for completely disassembling your motor and for the bogus crank they tried to pass off as yours. Oh and don't expect any help from any laws written by our wonderful government, you see passanger cars are the only vehicals protected by those. Bottom line, if you have a new bike from Suzuki, that is under warrenty don't mess with it unless you are ready to go it alone.

Get it in writing!!!!!!

+10000000

If it ain't in writing you've got nothing. Cause if something happens and the bloke who told you is questioned, he'll deny telling you. And you're up the creek.

So... get it in writing.

It already is in writing.......contained in the service booklet. When you bought the bike you also agreed to the warranty Ts and Cs contained in it. Suzuki will always refer to this in the event of a dispute..........NOT what some space-monkey behind a counter might say so dig the book out have a read through it.

Somewhere in there it will state something like this.......

"Warranty is not applicable to :
Normal maintenance operations such as Engine Tune-up, De-Carbonizing, Carburetor cleaning, Wheels, Brakes and Clutch adjustments as well as any other normal adjustments
Normal service wear and tear items (i.e.) Brake Shoes, Brake Pads, Shims / Fasteners, Drive Chain, Sprockets, Clutch Plates, Race Bearing kit, Gaskets, Rubber Parts (or) Plastic components, Wheel Rims (in case of misaligned or bent), Element Air Cleaner, Oil Filter and Electrical items like bulbs.
If recommended Engine Oil/Lubricants are not used or if they are not replaced at the recommended interval
Use of non- genuine parts (or) accessories not approved by Suzuki which affects the performance and reliability of the motorcycle
Premature wear of Engine parts such as Cylinder, Piston, Valves, and Bearings due to adulteration of petrol/fuel"

So by looking at that disclaimer the warreny isnt worth the paper its written on!They seem to have a reson not to fix just about anything on yuor bike.Glad i didnt get the extended warrenty what a rort, should just go ahead and do mods because by the looks of it they will say or do just about anything to not honner their warreny.Thanx all for your advice :2guns:

I disagree, warranties are well worth having and can save you a lot of money if a major failure does occur, but the thing is they work both ways. If you tow the line and follow the rules and then go on to have a major issue Suzuki will deal with it no questions asked. However if you take the piss and dont follow the rules and then have an issue Suzuki will laugh in your face and tell you to jog-on and you will be hit with what could be a very large repair  bill

Personaly I would wait until the warranty runs out, because after all, you HAVE paid for it (as part of the bikes price  :D) then start your modding but hey.....its your bike and your choice and if you think its all pointless and cant wait a few months to fit some new parts go ahead, throw the cash away and fill your boots :thumb:

You hit the nail squarely on the head! So much as doing the oil changes yourself will void the warrenty. They have enough wiggle room to dance the tango with Rosie O'Donald in their warrenty. I will never buy another new Suzuki product again, probably never own another Suzuki after this one. Granted it's a great bike and I really enjoy it but the way EVERYONE, from the dealer, to regional reps, to national reps treated me when it had it's problem...I say F%^&'em. Leave the bike box stock, have it serviced at the dealer and maybe if there is a issue they will fix it on their dime.
