Hey all,

I'm having to part out my 2004 GS500f.

I ran it low on oil during a 500+ mile trip so there's a knock coming from the lower end of the motor, near the sprocket. I've been told by mechanic's that I've probably toasted the main bearings and possibly the crankshaft, and maybe balancer bearings. I've been quoted between $400 - $800 just to dismantle and diagnose the problem, plus another $800 to fix and reassemble. I bought the bike for $1800 and can't see putting almost that back in to it just to fix it. Plus, I just separated my shoulder so I won't even be able to ride for maybe as long as a year. So short story, long... I've got to get rid of the bike. Before I started to dismantle, the motor ran with no ticking / noises coming from the top end, no loss in power, and no sign of oil burning / leaking. The rest of the bike is pretty much in great condition. Here's the prices I think are fair for the parts. Please feel free to comment / ask questions / counter offer / etc...

I'm trying to sell on craigslist too so any insight or advise on what I'm doing would be great! Here's my cl posting:

I think I have buyers for the head and the fairings, if not I'll PM those interested. Whatever I have sold so far I'll show on the list here and keep updating.

Thanks.

How about $8 and I'll mail it to you in an envelope? Where's it going?

GynZi

Hey,

How much would you want for the tail and seat? Are you willing to ship overseas to europe?

ynot500f

Please clarify what you mean by "tail". The seat I'll sell for $50. As far as shipping oversea, I wouldn't even know where to start.

With tail i mean the rear fairings that are behind the seat.

Shipping overseas is quite easy, just walk to some post office and say "this box to europe thanks"  ;)

interested in front fairings( with brackets), sprockets, chain and levers

ynot500f

Okay, sorry for being unresponsive. My priorities have shifted because I'm also moving and trying to tie up loose ends on other projects, so I've been detached from the internet for a few days. I'm trying to make myself available soon to get these parts ready to ship. Thanks for your patience. Everyone that's PM'd me, I will update...

GSPhilly

Does anyone know if the clutch lever is the same for pre-01 models?  If so, I'd be interested in this. 19070.
