Bike is SWEET, 110% of what he said he was sending, and everything went together perfectly!

Now, to save up again, strip her back down, and get everything powder coated!

Once again, THANKS!

100 shipped and thats for the front plastics, mounts, headlight, windscreen.

Isn't in the best of shape, has some scratches/rash, the headlight is missing a mount, and the windscreen has a tab broke off.

Heres some before shots from when I first bought the bike!

Huge change, eh?

interesting offer tho for sure, i will get back with you after i check my play funds.

Oh lmfao, oops.

Yea, the tab and the mounting point that goes in the hole on the right side is snapped, have yet to plastic weld it back together, so it isn't perfect condition. Previous owner did a number on it.

If you have a nice black rear and a late model tank w/o dents, i'd give it to ya for cheap. I want to go gunmetal, and I cant be without my tank while its getting painted, so Planning on painting a second one, than selling the blue one with the plastics.

Beautiful.

I think the k1-k3 E's and naked K4+'s look a lot better than the older style E's

What are those little guards over the fork dust seals? Where may I buy a pair?

Nice job! Glad all the parts worked out for you.

Looks like you still need front reflectors, stainless steel chain guard (maybe painted black) and black peg mounts. I'd go black on the heel guards, too. I did that to Suzi - looks better. Paint those silver plastic caps for access to the shock black, too. I've only seen silver ones. Painted all mine black to match the frame.

If you saved the silver plastic caps from your stock bar mounts, stick two on the bolts holding the top plate.

As a safety issue, rear side reflectors and front side reflectors are important. I have the front reflectors that mount on the triple. Or buy the Harley stick-ons that I use.

BRIAN: Newer forks came with rock deflectors.
    PROTECTOR     51201-01DD0   $14.88.
I'd have to check my parts bins to see if I have any I can spare. They do show up on ebay once in a while.

FYI: Crash guards are Renntec that I wasn't going to use. Headlight was from the '89 parts bike I bought a couple weeks ago. Bars are Euro type 1 which I had on the shelf. Tail light Clear Alternatives I didn't need (I use the smoke one from lights4all in Germany). There was other stuff but I don't remember right now.

OTHER PARTS: I do have a set of "F" tail plastics that were painted black. Also front headlight and windshield and rest of front plastics - though they were painted fugley black. Also matching ignition, gas and seat lock sets.

If a pair surface in your bins, I'd happily buy them!

Everyone, thanks for the kind words, as always, its a continuing work in progress!

I just picked up a new exhaust clamp, this time heavy duty, and a take-off set of rear gsxr pegs!

Everything will eventually be painted/powder coated black.

Adidas,

I plan on getting blue reflective stripes for my rims once I repaint/powdercoat them, they're scratched up from the previous owner.

Oh, and a stainless chain guard is on my todo list in a few months, need to let the misses checkbook go by a few pages so she don't realize I just dropped 250 on awesome goods!

love the 89's, rear end, tail light, and roundie light up front. the crash cage is a must have. very clean bike, very nice. get some buell signals to replace the (tastefully enough as is) shorty stockers and you'll be surprised how much better it looks. more modern, without 'trying'.

very nice bike, enjoy the ride !

I think I want to put the red lenses back on with the integrated signals.

Signal wise, I'd like a nice set of shorty stalks, and I was thinking the same thing. Been scouring the local parts shop for a cheap pair. It'll pop up, always does!

FYI: Remember certain legal requirements for reflectors and lighting:
Orange: front, each side
RED: Rear, each side and on the tail
You can add any other reflective material of any color (told that by a Seattle bike cop) but that doesn't replace the requirements for orange and red reflectors.
Turn signals: Must be same height and at least 9" apart. Front pair does not have to be same height as rear pair, but the pair must be same height and 9" apart minimum.
License plate must be illuminated.

I like the Harley stick-ons on the front forks. I used the newer fork reflector mount for the Denali fog lights. I do have round ones and metal bands to attach to forks (used that before getting the stick ons). Rear I left as is. Tail I removed the bracket and mounted to the rear fender below the license plate. Reflective license plate bolts I think are OK for the rear.

Turn signals: You have shorties on the front. I have one set of shorties for the rear if one other person doesn't want them. You can put your red tail lens on the LED board.

Keep up the good work. Looking sweet!

I have these. Kijona might want the bottom pair that matches your fronts (I do have plenty of good orange lenses because I replaced all mine with smoke lenses). If he doesn't decide soon, then they're available. Others 2 pair are available. Postage and a couple dollars for a beer.

xunedeinx

Is that the same in FL?

I dont think i've ever seen a single bike around here thats legal than, lmfao.

I got a line on a stock 2007 r6r can for FREE that I'm thinking about throwing on and trying.

adidasguy

Those are DOT requirements. Probably not enforced much unless your state required periodic inspection or inspection when getting a new title. Cops might bust you if you ride like a squid. Maybe get cited if they ticket you for something else. Usually they say they have more important things to do than stop a bike for missing a reflector (sometimes a cop speaks at local club meetings).

I'm a firm believer in doing whatever possible to be more visible. I haven;t reached the geezer age of wearing the orange reflective vest. Still a few years to go before I do that unless adidas makes one.

Reflective tape on wheels is a plus for being seen at night. Nothing worse than being surprised at night my one of those matt black bikes with minimal lights and no reflectors - stealth bikes - death machines at night.

I've seen some bikes with dual filament turn signals. Dim filament for a running light. Bright one for the turn signal. There must be a way I can do that with our existing turn signals and add a 4-way flasher capability.

I have noticed 2007+ seems to have an electronic flasher module rather than the old mechanical one. I'll play with it this weekend! (After picking up Phenix's new tires from my dealer: he's getting the gun metal gray rims.)
