Anybody know what the part number is for the Walmart Everstart AGM battery for the GS?

Thanks.

Worm

They don't have the correct one. Part number ES10LA2 is the closest but the discharge tube is on the wrong side of the battery.

No Walmart AGM to fit the GS as far as I know.  Some here use the larger ES12BS AGM but it is laid on the side and some mods are required to apply it.

I'm on my second Scorpion now and both only took a couple days to get here to Ohio from the west coast by priority shipping which is included in the price, fits right in like a stock 10L-B2 and ready to go.

Alright, thanks guys. I appreciate the info.

Wait, that shouldn't be a problem, right? It's an AGM battery...it's sealed!

Let me interject a little wisdom here.

This is beginning to sound like another someone that buys a Wallymart battery to save $20 then does nothing but complain about battery problems and starts to say the GS is a POS.

Please do yourself a favor and spare the rest of us from woefully sad future tales of grief and get the right part and fix it the correct way.

How many times have we had threads about starting problems and electrical problems due to someone saving a few dollars on a battery? Invest in a good battery and the correct one. Your bike will love you for that.

Get the WallyWorld battery and I promise not to respond to postings about why the battery dies or your bike has starting problems or why thing don't run right.

Another shocking buy typical thing we see is someone buying the wrong part (i.e. battery) to save $20 then spends weeks and more $ modifying things to make the wrong part fit (mod battery box for wrong battery) all the while they wish they could be riding.  :cookoo:

I've had past experiences with the Evertstart batteries from Walmart...their AGM batteries are pretty good. That's the only reason I was thinking of them.

I guess you're right though...shouldn't waste time or money trying to shoehorn something in when I can spend a few more bucks and get one somewhere else.

Thanks.

I'll second the scorpion battery. Great for cold weather and I don't even use my battery tender anymore. The bike can sit for a few weeks and start up just fine.

i got a duralast battery at autozone that fits perfectly, only took overnight to charge up and has 180cca
more than enough to start in the 23deg night we had recently.

CB10L-A2 FP

EDIT: This battery is rated 11Ah More than adequate in this application. The same battery was installed by the PO and lasted 10 years.

49.99 with core.

All you have to do is relocate the vent hose. That takes about 1.5 seconds.

I got an AGM battery from walmart last summer. So far it has been great. I've taken the bike out once a month just to start and run her for about 10 mins since parking it in November and she's cranked up everytime.

I got the smaller one, I think ES9BS, because I have it mounted in my tail instead of under the seat.

My next battery when this one finally gives up the ghost.

I picked up one of the big ones in the box, I originally thought the box was empty...

A small one starts at 50 bucks, their sealed, and have a 3 year warrenty

Power.vs.Price is about the same as Shorai.
Seems they are also LiFePO4 batteries.
The $50 one is half the capacity of our standard battery. You need the $99 one for the same power. Then, same price as Shorai. Their $159 is about the same as the Shorai $149 battery (15ah vs 14ah).

Either would be OK. However, the $50 one is woefully inadequate (4ah)

So either is OK.But you need to spend $99 for an adequate battery. The $50 just won't cut it (it is rated for a 50cc scooter  :icon_eek: )

I needed the battery immediately. I just went to Autozone and picked up the only battery for a motorcycle they had. Thankfully, it was one that fits the GS and one that hadn't been "f'ed with".

Thanks guys.

Sorry for the cruddy pictures...

I just noticed...apparently that's an SV650 on the front of the box. Cool! :P

I really would've preferred to have an AGM battery but what the hell, right? It wasn't expensive at all and it does have a warranty...albeit not much of one.

Thats the battery I have now, and will be getting rid of.

If you lean too far, itll leak out acid. I have the missing paint to prove it.

That sounds absurd (not that I don't believe you). If it does that I'll take it back.

As I said, I needed the battery right away, otherwise I would've ordered a really nice one like Adidas uses or something similar. I would've liked to have had an AGM battery from Walmart (yes, yes I know...but I've had good experiences with them).

You mean "leaning" while riding, or "leaning" like your bike fell over in the garage?

During riding, the electrolyte level will remain parallel to the top of the battery, no matter how far you lean....laws of physics and all that..

Could you expound, please? I'm failing to see how what you're saying is possible.
