For painting I would say no. That little guy wont be able to support the cfm needed for a spray gun. maybe and its a big MAYBE if you were doing small parts with short bursts but that's still iffy.
My bike isn't leaking oil, it's just marking its territory.

For painting??   Well, there's painting and then there's painting.  As the blurb on the web says this unit is good for "airbrushing".. Airbrushing is indeed painting...but small areas.  I don't think this compressor will "paint" with a full sized spray gun.  Not enough storage volume in the tank, and not enough Cubic feet per minute.

BUT....

for $40 what the heck!  Great for other jobs like nail gun etc.  And painting very small parts....

Of course a good airbrush will cost 5 x what the compressor did.  But you can get some mini sprayers for cheap...

To really paint, like for auto body work, you need like 5 hp compressor and like 50 gallon tank.  Even then it will be "running all the time"  expecially with newer HVLP guns......need lots of volume...

We used to put two storage tanks together 2 x 50 = 100 gallon air tank.  This was to apply lacquer to furniture.

I did paint airplanes with 5 HP 30 gal...but it didn't rellly keep up..

it will do small parts pretty well, but wont blow enough for most HVLPs.

It will be great for everything else. Cleaning, inflating tires, your small pneumatic tools, etc.

Actually.. Painting if you can get an electric oven for free. you could do powder coating. Only needs like 10-13 PSI or something like that! :) But you need to have a dry filter on it.
