WTH dude ... Y'know adidas, just do a kat FE and be done with it. The clip on's come standard if you do that. And Kat clip on's are far better than 89 GS. They feel more solid and they transmit less vibrations to your hand. They are longer and have the room needed to clear everything with the fatter kat grips. The larger and better quality fork tubes, the twin disks etc etc are just a bonus on top.

Are you wanting an "E" fairing or a NOS 1989 clip on set?

As I have the last 3 OEM sets of NOS 1989 clip on parts in existence (as far as I know), I'm really considering making a 1989 handlebar setup and putting it in a display case. I do not believe there are any other NOS 1989 clip on sets in the world. It would make a nice display. Has anyone ever touched a brand new 1989 clip on set?

No, I haven't.  Why not auction-off one or two sets?  Those bars are sought after now but in twenty years they'll be worthless junk.  Strike while the iron's hot!  Don't be like my brother-in-law who kept both of his O.J. Simpson rookie cards!  I told him to sell one and keep one so he'd be covered either way the trial turned-out.  He threw away at least five grand because he didn't have the guts to pull the trigger.  Please sell them to us!!!

Yes - but I love the GS!
When the market falls out on  liter bikes and people are clamoring for  a GS500 - I'll  be sitting pretty with all these new old stock parts 

I'm well stocked on tanks now. There are always great deals on  parts. i don't know why others needing tanks haven't jumped on the deals I find on flea-bhey. The tank for Phenix was a hundred bucks. Just 2 tiny dings. No rust. No one else bid on it! yet people would spend twice that to cut open a tank, seal it, weld it back up then sand & paint it.  There's a brand new, in the box 1993 tank on my shelf. Junior's tank was brand new old stock from Germany.

I guess I'm not just a parts whore, but a parts hoarder.
