Clutch question

When I pull the clutch in like 1/8-1/4 inch it engages.  Logically this tells me it's too close to being engaged all the time.  But I don't know if this means I need to loosen it or tighten it.

Secondly is there a good write up on this somewhere?  The ones I'm finding tell me "twist this, lock that down, unscrew that" and I have no idea what that means.

Thanks!

Owner's manual has some info, the Suzuki GS500 shop manual (available on fleabay) or Haynes/Clymer books have more detailed information.

Otherwise this post (found by searching for "clutch adjustment")?
