I am amazed (and confused, and gratified) by what things can pop up on ebay, if you are ... well, lets say just plain lucky.

I was considering what the finished result would be if I tried to pound out my bent rightside footpeg rest thingie.
(footpeg seems fine, but it's bent out the mount bracket. sigh.).

Figured it would be somewhat ugly, and I'd still need to figure out a replacement pin.
Decided to browse ebay to see whats available at what price.
Initially, best looking thing was $39, at
www.ebay.com/itm/2006-Suzuki-GS500FK-gs-500-Right-drivers-foot-peg-set-brake-pedal-rear-/350571116743

but then I found THIS crazy guy/business in florida, was selling the same thing, for a buy-it-now price of $11 plus $10 shipping? ! ??
http://myworld.ebay.com/bikestripper1/&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2754
That's cheaper than some folks selling an isolated right footpeg!

You know I was on that faster than a tick on a fresh-washed dog  :icon_mrgreen:

SO.... anyone need a right-side footpeg, with no pin? ;)

For a bent footpeg bracket, all you need to do is stick a crowbar (or strong lever) in the empty part of the bracket, and tweak it to straighten. Unless it's folded in on itself it should work fine.

Nice find though. Seems like a lot of people just base prices on what things look like their worth. That's why theres a $12 rear side fairing and a $70 front chipped wheel.

Yep - that's how I found 3 sets of brand new old stock clip-ons for $150 each.

Then, as for foot peg brackets, I'm about to take a box of them to recycling. There's a limit to how many of some parts this parts whore will keep around. Same for brake calipers, triples, and other odds & ends. Do I need 7 swing arms? Probably not. Feed the dumpster!

It's not the big-triangle part. It's the "small U" part that the footpeg actually rests on.
Yeah, I could probably straighten it..but it's also ripped at one of the edges of the "U". and no pin.
(well, a sheared pin anyways. It's half in. So my peg is currently half-dangling.  I'm mainly putting my weight on the U part, rather than the peg :-D ).

Sooo.. I figured hey for that price, why not

Unfortunately for some, I don't have the time to advertise parts. I try to help when someone asks for a part.
Unfortunately, whether selling, advertising or responding to PM's, it seems 50% of the people just don't follow through - either with a purchase or a "sorry I don't need it because..... Thanks anyway".

I really get tired of the no-responders so I do less parts selling than I used to try to do. It comes down to waste a lot of time with PM's and end up with no response (i.e. rear axle spacers, turn signals, an "F" mirror, one never returning an indicator wiring harness... just to name a few deadbeat transactions). The recycling place at least gives me some money and it is only a short distance away. I have a few regular customers that I try to find anything they need. That's the reality of parts whoring.

Back to ebay - you can find deals if you look. When you see a deal - like nearly new calipers for $14.95 - snatch them up. Cheaper than new pads and rebuilding a caliper. I once bought a new 1997 front rim from Greece for $80 (it is on Phenix). Brand new 2007 gray tank for $250.

Wow... what was the shipping like on that $80 rim?  more than the part itself?
